I finally caught up and watched it all from the start, and I got to say, it is really good up until the last 15 minutes (tho Ep 4/5 are a bit slow).
I was really hoping their reality was some sort of digital afterlife in a far future implemented brainscans when they were healthy, but having them be still alive in 2017 in the real world is such a bizarre twist. It largely nullifies the significance of their existence in the circus. Your death/abstraction doesn't really matter nearly as much because your real consciousness lives on.
I also think it betrays the entire existential absurdism theme of the circus. Your life in the circus is meaningless, as it is in reality as well (tho reality has more smoke screens), but it's supposed to make you happy that your reality you're doing cool fun shit? That's bullshit.
It also doesn't really show a bright future. They always had the ability for it to be a playground fun time but just resisted Caine's shitty adventures and wanted to escape, so now they only do their own ones, but they could've done that already and just asked for more leisure time or something. The machine powering this could still go down at any random time. They could still very well lose hope and stop being friends in their Minecraft creative mode existence.
Overall, I would've preferred a tragic ending where they slowly kill themselves or maybe Pomni is like the lone keeper of the abstracted monsters for centuries until someone shuts the machine off + all of them have been confirmed dead for centuries.
