I empathize. When the joy is lost from. Music that when a spiritual death has set in. I've been there many times. It's melancholia, the joy has been sapped from your life your body your mind. Just want to lay down and die.

But when you're out however it happens and the joy is back, the admiration the just straight up awe at how talented some people are. I love so many different artists. That's what they are -> just artists who entertain with their talent and the beauty of their voice, their storytelling, their hard fucking banging music. I like so any different artists but lately I've been loving lana God she's amazing. I like Taylor, Eminem, tupac, and just various songs. FDO, computers by wooski, hilltop hoods, various youtube mixes, Gucci mane, king von, Duffy, the streets, outkast, rosalia, tinarewin, I could just go on about all the music I like who cares really. Just want to make the post to say falling in love with artists again is possible, actually enjoying sounds and storytelling is possible again. I love music.

Do you enjoy listening to Situation by Yazoo, Catch Me by Pretty Poison and Kyrie Eleison by Mister Mister?

If you don't recognize some of these, prepare to be nostalgia'd as they get far less radio replay.

I still like certain songs and don't get as sad listening to them anymore. I do enjoy listening to instrumental ones more.
>>
>>85107804
Zoning out with instrumental is nice too.
>>
the ability to identify with music in any meaningful way was closely tied to the presence of hope, which i irrecoverably lost years ago.
once i was finally forced to accept that my life was a wash, that none of these plotlines were going to go anywhere, that anything i did or felt objectively didn't matter, everything started sounding like dissonant noise. i miss being young and having the reassuring delusional warmth in the back of my head telling me my fuckup life still had some slim chance at amounting to something.

Only very specific sounding music can really entertain me, and unfortunately it's very difficult to find, so no not really.

Every now and then I'll listen to old songs I liked growing up, but I don't really enjoy anything new

I'm in my 30s and I still enjoy music but it's mostly just popular music from the past. I'm completely over /mu/core and any of that crap.

I get what you mean, and I still kinda pull my own ear to listen to music, in hopes I can spark some classic joy I used to have when I was huge on music. I listen to alot of new music, new to me that is, and it all feels more or less like going thru the motions, but when I recognize something that I should theoretically like, I add it to the playlist, hopefully it'll click, in a better time, when I feel good for a while.
I've enjoyed a few lately though:

I don't care about your thread subject. I just think that picture is funny. It makes me think of the scene in Bruce Almighty when he sets up an email client to deal with prayers.

For some reason, I've listened to "In the Year 2525" like 20 times this month. Once a song gets in my ear I have to listen to it 30-40 times before I get sick of it.

Yeah, I love music. I don't think I'll ever stop loving music.
It can evoke all kinds of emotions.
There are songs/music which I can listen to for hours on repeat without getting bored.
