I'm sure growing up as the disappointing kid sucks, but it can't be as bad as growing up as the golden child and becoming the disappointing one as an adult.
>Always got good grades in school
>Stayed out of trouble
>Never went out without permission
>Never went to unchaperoned parties
>Never had sex
>Never did any drugs or alcohol
Meanwhile, my sister smoked, drank, was in constant trouble at school, and was always getting into fights with our parents, and now they're more proud of her than me because she's getting married and I'm a virgin who still lives with them, even though I have a master's degree and she has a minimum wage job. I'm trying to come up with an excuse to not go to her wedding because I don't think I can handle the inevitable barrage of relatives asking me why I don't have a girlfriend.

Such is the way of the normie. She could become a literal mass murderer and they'd still be more proud of her than you because she has sex and you don't.
>>
>>85112971
Its their fault that youre a virgin tho. Why dont you tell them that?
>>
My parents tell my younger sister that if she doesn't lock in she will end up like me. It makes me feel pretty bad about myself but it's okay because I'm an actual burden and disappointment
>>
>>85112971
You autistically assumed they meant what they said when they told you that you weren't allowed to go to parties and get drunk and have sex. They expected you to sneak out to parties and get in trouble anyway, and they were secretly disappointed that you didn't, even though they looked proud at face value. Teenagers are "supposed" to defy their parents and go to wild parties, and the fact that you chose not to is alien to your normie parents.
>>
>>85113057
>they said something to you but they actually meant is for you to do the other way around
Neurotypicals are really retarded
>>
>>85113057
Well I never got invited to any parties. Plus, I knew that if I got in trouble they'd take away my video games, and I didn't want to risk that just to go to some loud, sweaty party.
>>
>>85113078
Well they tell you you're not allowed to because getting caught and punished for wild parties and underage drinking and sex is also a fundamental part of the normie teenage experience.
>>
you became a disappointing because you had strict helicopter parents that wanted you to perform

boomers are deranged psychos
>>
>>85113057
I remember when I was a teenager my parents got security cameras for the house and made me install Life360. I can't imagine their disappointment when they realized that I wasn't just good at sneaking around, I legitimately had no friends to invite me to parties.

Yeah life sucks but it's never too late to postal up an uncle ted and still make a difference.
>>
>>85113108
I lived up to all of their expectations though. I graduated high school magna cum laude, I got into a great university and got a master's degree from there, and I held a really great job for years that I had to leave through no fault of my own. The only one of their expectations that I couldn't live up to is being a sex-having normie, and that's enough to make me a burned out disappointment in their eyes.

>I'm trying to come up with an excuse to not go to her wedding because I don't think I can handle the inevitable barrage of relatives asking me why I don't have a girlfriend.
Why not just hire someone to pretend to be your girlfriend?
>>
I remember the utter shock of learning that for other kids, being "grounded" meant they weren't allowed to go out with their friends. For me, being "grounded" always meant that I wasn't allowed to play video games or go on the internet. Normies value socialization so much that being deprived of it is a genuine punishment.
>>
doing everything right is infinitely more damaging than doing everything wrong and the worst part is it makes perfect sense
>>
>>85113057
I actually went to parties a couple of times, but it was out of pity because I was widely known at school as an autistic virgin loser.
>hey let's invite that one retard over. It might make things more interesting
I used to actually think they wanted to be my friends until I found out about all the other fun stuff they did together. For example, another sperg and I were literally the only ones out of their entire group that weren't invited to their spring break trip. That's when we both realized we were just jesters for them, so we started hanging out with each other instead.

>Bad: Doing everything wrong
>Worse: Doing everything right and still failing
>Worst: Doing everything right, succeeding, and still being seen as a disappointment
>>
The issue isn't "good child" or "bad child", it's introversion or extroversion.
Her extraversion got her in trouble as a kid, but it guided her into the eventual accepted path as a female (being a mother). Your introversion kept you out of trouble as a kid, but it's trapping you in a state of failure as an adult (i.e. not becoming the male success path of a man, being a father).
Who cares about "good job" or "money" without using it to create the next generation? Happiness? Drug addicts are happy (at least when they're high).

You made the mistake (maybe not, just bare with me for the rant) of thinking good job or degree was the goal and not the means to the end.
You haven't reached the goal, yet she has. That's why.
>>
>>85112971
You got good grades, stayed out of trouble, listened to your parents, avoided STDs and chemicals that damage your health, all the while getting a good education and job. And you're jealous of people who pushed away their parents, damaged their organs, became a nuisance and is now getting married only to become a statistic (50%)? I wouldn't be too jealous if I were you. I think you probably have some deep-seated psychological issues if you view your life as the bad ending.
>>
>>85113647
That's the thing though. I don't see my life as the bad ending. But my parents do.
>>
>>85113808
Just buy your parent's house to assert dominance over them.
>>
>>85113510
This is probably it. And she also portrays herself as an "introvert" in that quirk chungus way even though she's one of the most hypersocial people I've ever met.
>>
>>85113057
My mom was adamant about me never smoking or drinking or doing any of that when I was a kid, so I never did. It wasn't until I was an adult and she casually said that she got caught smoking at school that I realized she expected me to do that anyway.
>>
Sounds like a classic failed normie to me
>>
>>85113131
The worst thing you can be in the eyes of a normie is weird. And I don't mean the quirk chungus "I'm such a weirdo teehee" type of socially acceptable weird. I mean a true socially inept outcast. Sociable serial killers get more respect than outcast loners.
>>
>>85113078
True but neurodivergents are boring, always saying the quite part out loud. No pizzazz, swag, or game. The implicitness is part of the fun man.
>>
>>85113120
If you're a foid it makes sense, if not that sucks man.

I've never understood parents that were super strict with their teenage boys, I defiantly feel like it's a "She wares the pants" helicopter mom type households who do that shit.
>>
>>85116352
I'm a guy so yeah, it sucks
>>
>>85113078
They didn't really mean the opposite of what they said, what they essentially meant was "you're supposed to get in trouble and go to wild parties and we're supposed to punish you for it."
>>
>>85112971
Being a good kid essentially ruins your life and your parents are to blame for it. At least you got a good education and a job out of it.
>>
Your experience is a case study in why i would use SSIVF to have a daughter if i was having kids OP. Females cannot lose, they can only win. It's a cheatcode to guaranteeing a super baby.
>>
>>85116909
SSIVF simply means you are creating many children and killing the males.
>>
>>85113057
Nah, I don't think that's the case. Normies just don't have consistent principles or worldview. As teenagers they would sneak out to party because they wanted to have fun, regardless of how that affected their parents. Now as adults, they prevent their kids from partying because they want kids that are easy to manage, regardless of how that affects them. Later they will expect their kids to start families because they want to be grandparents but not worry too much about how their upbringing affected their ability to socialize.
>>
>>85116864
That's just lying twice. They lie about what their kids are supposed to do and they lie about being the authority figures that decide what the kids are supposed to do, when in reality they believe in some other mystery force that dictates what both they and their kids are supposed to do.
>>
>>85112971
Normies want their kids to be normies. Even the successful kids are only supposed to follow the normie path and become higher earning normies. You should not heed their opinion too much.
>>
>>85118006
>Some other mystery force
That force is social convention
>>
>>85118073
>Normies want their kids to be normies
Not only that, they raise their kids as if they are normies. So they give advice that only works for normies like "just be yourself"
