Thief 3 with the sneaky upgrade is a really enjoyable game. It's a little campy and has a few annoying bugs, but otherwise it is a solid experience.
>>85124997i pirated and almost completed the first one a long time ago on the hardest difficulty. One of the best games i have ever played. i remember things like that trippy room in the mansion.
>>85125071I have beaten the first two, and I think the second has the best levels. 3 is the best feeling with the sneaky upgrade. It really ties the series together.I even liked Thief 4. Obviously not as good as its predecessors, but still enjoyable.
>>85124997I'm still holding off on playing any thief game until I got to play the VR version first since I think the flat versions are better games overall. This way I get fewer disappointments I hope.
>>85125071>01:33:07Also, if you liked them, why not buy them on Steam? There's a thief bundle that I'm sure will go on sale at some point. I'd work my way backwards through the series, personally.
>>85125119Haven't even heard of it, and maybe that's a good thing.Thief 2 and 3 are peak.
>>85125129>>85125113um i have adhd and struggle to play single player games. for some reason in my childhood i was more strong headed and could overcome this.
>>85125143Having a nice headset helps because the audio design is impeccable in these games. Very immersive and the music is actually quite well placed too.Thief 3/4 are more "games" than the first two. 1/2 focus more on sim aspects. It's funny playing this game because despite you having access to 30 broadhead arrows, expert mode in the sneaky upgrade makes you loot 90% of the loot, all special items, and not kill anyone. So broad head arrows in expert become useless and for a good portion of the game you must be nonlethal.
>>85125171of course, the audio effects are so good, i remember the exact sound the echo of the footsteps make.
>>85125192The games rival modern games with their audio design. It works so well because it is a very hushed game, naturally. It's nice being able to pinpoint exactly where a guard is by their footsteps alone, in a game from 2004 no less.
