What even is this board anymore?

People just sit around solving captchas in order to make whatever this is?

I made a thread that got 60 replies the other day. I think it was pretty high quality if I say so myself.

The captchas are fun to solve they are like mini iq tests

It's a chatroom, where people start threads based on their anxieties of the day, and people who feel like they share that particular anxiety can join in and feel less lonely. Same as it's always been.

What does this board mean to you?
>>
I have so many filters for /r9k/ that when I open the board's catalog there are at minimum 120 threads automatically hidden. Of the few remaining unhidden there are maybe three threads worth reading.

I have some phantom memory of the average thread being more interesting and about 50-75IQ points higher than what is now in every single thread. Maybe it was always this retarded and it was just back then my senses were more easily pleased.

I'm beginning to find 4chan unbearable. I just wanted to get some sense of interaction from it like I did in the past. Virtually every post now is a waste of time. i'm surprised I even got two coherent responses ITT

The days of a cohesive and semi-intelligent board culture are gone. Even /lit/, my home board, is painfully low IQ now. It's at the point now over there that if you read more than like 6 books a year they actually get mad at you.

Phoneposting destroyed the average person's ability to communicate more than 3 words at a time, and LLMs basically deleted the language and reasoning skills of an entire generation, so you're not wrong. You should probably try to find a wife/husband and become normie, 4chan is a prison for freaks like me who can't into IRL human interaction

There really isnt any reason to still be here anon. We all should have left in the mid 10's when politics infected the broader board culture. This is a website for bots and thirdies now, not self aware intellectuals.

You're such a little genius anon, proud of you!

You read anything interesting? Should I take up reading instead?

Right now I'm reading Pleasure by Gabriele D'Annunzio. It's interesting but D'Annunzio prose (tbf it's translated so that can also play into it) can be quite exhausting to read. Very descriptive, very verbose. Still good so far, main character just got stabbed in a duel. This passage that immediately followed was very nice.
But yes, get into reading. Don't bother with /lit/ though, it's a pointless board nowadays.
