If you've never played Minecraft before, is Minecraft worth getting in 2026?

Especially if you've never played before. Tho if you're the type to find vanilla boring after a first playthrough (like me) you ought to install a few mods on it, spice things up a little. But overall it's well worth your time. Just don't look up farms, at least not until you "beat" the game.

They added the ability to host your world with the in-game options and then removed it for some reason. There are mods you can add to replace that functionality. Of course you can still host a world and use Hamachi to port forward, those options just made it easier to do for the Gen Z boomers.

Played MC back in the PS3/Xbox 360 days. It's nostalgic but I think I grew out of this game cause I hit a few trees and then get off. As a kid I used to play this game for hours, Survival is the best mode period.

There's a ton of really cool systems like for smelting you have to physically pour the individual ingots yourself into molds. Great game if you're into that kind of stuff, kind of similar to factorio
