I hate women.
And I love them.
This is my curse.

None will ever be good enough for me.
Yet I will sacrifice too much for the bare minimum.
Modern society completely broke them (men too, mind you, just in different ways) and it shouldn't be my job to fix them.
>>
>>85182605
wtf are you me? Except the other way around. Women are perfect and there's nothing the world could possibly do to catch up.
>>
>>85182694
What does perfect mean? What does it entail?
>>
>>85182827
Well I suppose precious more than anything. It's like they're these gigantic fragile butterflies that have somehow found themselves trapped in your room. They don't deserve any of what's going on and aught to live in a world of sunshine and rainbows. Judging them by human or even our reality's standards isn't really fair.
>>
Also probably of note I'm scared of butterflies and freak out when they come near me. Nowadays I don't really want anything to do with them.

I got a fleabite on my nipple and now it's like I've got two nipples

I took the first test in the pastebin. This is what I got. I figure this is the most common result.
>>
>>85182989
It is supposed to be the most common result, at least for men, but it is actually quite rare to get on the internet where everyone is an intuitive, or at least claims to be.
>>
For example, r/INFJ has more than 10 times as many weekly visitors than r/ISTJ
>>
>>85183007
>>85183035
I do agree that I'm ISTJ. The weakness description I found that others might dump their responsibilities on you is very annoying and true. A few of the questions I really didn't have a satisfying answer. Stuff like, "Would you rather make a plan and rigidly stick to it regardless of difficulties or would you rather have no plan at all and purely improvise?". Neither answer I liked. An answer I would have liked is something like, "I like to make a plan and then adapt it as the situation unfolds.".
>>
>>85182989
Quick tip: if you are genuinely interested in MBTI or typology as a whole, don't post in /mbti/ generals. Make a standalone thread.
>>
>>85183317
I'm just taking a silly little personality test. It's not serious business.
>>
>>85183381
Just saying in case you plan to get into this stuff.
>>
>>85183317
Yeah right, like you'd actually do anything other than tell him to "read the jung". Pah!
>>
>>85183299
yeah that's a problem with a lot of these tests is that by lumping the questions into A vs B categories it often ends up with one of the answers being totally insane. Although that was a J vs P question I'm sure this is one of the main reasons most people get N instead of S. You have to answer a lot of questions as "why yes, I am I retard" to get a low openness result. It's possible to get results like yours where S just barely edges it out over N but you don't really see S get 100 percents like you see with the other letters.
>>
>>85183622
Better advice than anything he would get from here.

>>85183656
Lot of people get N because MBTI has inherent intuition bias, generally correlating creativity or open-mindedness with intuition while contrasting it with a purely concrete sensation and other shit like sticking to tradition.

Is the clientele really that different? But yeah this thread in particular is more of an abstract art piece on my behalf so I guess you're technically right. But if I was anon I'd be privileged to have taken part in it, rather than some boring normal mbti thread you could have had on r*ddit.

PS: you have to press the ruler to the bone when trying to figure out who has the bigger Jung.
>>
>>85183815
>Is the clientele really that different?
There was a normal MBTI thread that managed to stay up for a while, not too long ago. Very obvious difference compared to what gets posted here.
>>
>>85183833
Do you believe it was because of different posters and different possible discussions?
>>
>>85183865
Definitely a bunch of non-/mbti/ posters, but not exclusively.
>>
>>85183874
How about we make it interesting and do a little experiment? The next time there's a non official /mbti/ thread the regulars are not allowed to post in it. Do you think it would stay up longer under those circumstances? Because to me it seems to be much of the regulars posting in those threads anyway.
>>
>>85183899
I'm not really interested and already said my lines anyways.
>>
>>85182876
See, I don't necessarily disagree with you on this, but that's precisely why I hate them, because the fact that people treat them as such leads to them being spoiled and ruining everything

I'm thinking that the theory that women tend to seek drama and ruin things is a biological conditioning issue, they've had to evolve in what was, to them especially, a absolutely dystopic world, being sold of, being raped, being threatened to be killed for X and Y reasons, not having the means to fight back most of the time, yadda yadda, and so, now that they (westerners, that is, I don't care about african tribes and third worlders) have everything going well for them, their brain goes ungabunga and they feel like something is wrong because nothing is, which then turn them into absolute swamp hags

And so, I believe that women should be protected, but not just from the world but especially from themselves, and that's not something that's easy to do especially in this day and age
>>
>>85183035
That's probably mostly just due to the fact that ISTJs might stick to more mainstream sources of entertainment, who the fuck would look up a reddit about their type except for a very specific subset of autists?

I'd agree that the internet was intuitive years ago, but now I'm not sure, just a look at twitter and you realize that most of the interactions there are very much not intuitive (though I'm referring to pure numbers here, not what's 'popular')
>>
>>85183833
Hey, that thread got bump limit, that's a lot better than "staying around for a while", show some respect to that OP!

But yeah there's a place for everything and everything in its place. This thing is just a place because I was feeling particularly depressed and inspired yesterday. You're free to be right about horoscopes for managers whenever you please.

>>85183899
It's not about length, it's about value! You could say it's what you put in it that counts. Live short and die young is perfectly valid for a thread's life. This one was would already have been a masterpiece if nobody posted.
>>
>>85184108
Well I'm not sure facebook and twitter really count as "the internet". They're more like extensions of the real world, I'd argue the internet as described colloquially is more the places that are more or less entirely abstracted from people's real lives.

Slop feeds are more one-directional than people engaging with each other or a shared subject as online entities.
>>
>>85185328
Pretty interesting way to see it, I agree, and that's pretty much what I mean by 'years ago', now internet is a part of people's lives, of all people's lives, while before it was more of a 'place' which some people used like people have used for forever, whichever place that would be and whichever clique was assembling there (taverns, bars, football/baseball fields, other hobby places, yadda yadda)
But here we are, now that the line between real life and internet has blurred, mostly thanks to covid, and internet now is a bigger and stronger part to everyone's lives, you still get a lot more overlap than you would've had years ago, you can look at anything relating to the internet and easily see that whether it's anime or video games or tabletop or anything that you would've called 'nerdy' and internet related, now it's filled to the brim with normies that are trying to change it and ruin it

But anyways
>>

I do wish 16-P would update their statistics, it's been more than 5 years and the numbers from their survey are still the same as ever. But the only thing deader than the internet is personality research. I want new data!

Wondered along this while looking to see if there's any new numbers anywhere and hmm, well isn't that interesting, most people think they're deviants in some way.
>>
>>85184081
I was gonna try and go on a woman hating screed about this but I'm just not capable. The truth is they're fine. Everything's fine really.
>>
>>85185487
I don't think things are as bad as a lot of people (especially here) believe it is, for sure, it's not even crazy bad (well, it's way harder than it should to find and pick a good one), but my view on it is that it's a slope and it's definitely going down, if things were worse this year than they were five years ago, they'll be even worse in 5 more years, and then even worse in 10.

Until something drastic occurs and tries to bring things back to how they were and what 'normal' was not that long ago, until then, it's all going to come tumbling down tumbling down tumbling down
>>
>>85185369
And yet this place is deader than its ever been. You'd think with more people there's be more nerds in the nerd zones but they seem harder to find. I suppose they all get to take a part in whatever community they came from rather than needing the "internet community" as a glob.

The numbers are all orders of magnitude bigger, but it all feels more quiet. Does it real feel like Lord of the Rings and Final Fantasy are the biggest magic the gathering sets of all time? Have any videogames even actually come out since 2016? I guess when everything's going well there isn't really a need to say anything, the heads are all down, the money's flowing, I guess we all just liked growing pains.
>>
>>85185523
I meant from an external perspective everything's functioning fine. You or I would be exceedingly lucky to "find and pick one" but if you go outside there are still babies being born and kids running around. Enough to keep the human race going, and what more do you need? Things can get worse and things can get better, there's winners and losers, it's a natural ebb and flow. Evolution doesn't happen without things getting worse. Women will be what women end up adapting into. We can use our prescience to nudge things in a certain direction, but how cares what happens in 5 or 10 years compared to 5000 or 10 million? If you're going to be self serving you might as well worry about what you're going to do for the next 5 minutes.
>>
>>85185636
No, it's pretty logical to me.
Why are we here?
Why are you here?
Why did you/we use the internet as a place to exist in?
I'm here because I want to escape these retards, that's why I'm here, if the retards infest the internet, then the internet becomes less interesting, it's pretty much as simple as this.
And to add to your card point; you know deep down that it's not cool. It's a cash grab. There's nothing to be excited about because you're a grown up adult and you realize that it's a logical way for them to make money, rather than something that's meant to please you and make you happy.
And I'd argue that this joins my point; those 'nerd' hobbies, places, doesn't matter what, were build on passion and feelings, I played games because I loved games, I'm working in the industry now because I love games, it's my passion, and yet I also fucking hate the industry right now and I find no reasons to be excited about 99% of releases precisely because of the point above; because these studios aren't filled with people with passion anymore, it's all just a cash grab, it's just an excuse for them to make money, most devs nowadays are just there because they needed a job and it sounded cooler to work on a game rather than do frontend and make websites, there's no passion anywhere.

Though that's not the only reason ofc, I think our culture is completely fucked to no end right now and the economy is making everything worse, but that'll be another whole tangent.

The problem is there's nothing to move onto as a grown adult. As a kid I believed there'd be something else for me to move on to when I grew up, that computers weren't just for kiddie games, not just games but the same games from when I was 14. Adults unironically sit in a loud room and get drunk when they're not working like some kind of standby mode. I don't want to be a manchild gamer, but there's not a lot of real options it seems.
>>
>>85186361
I don't know, I guess we're meant to have kids.
Or maybe we're just fucked in the head and we're not meant to be happy, who knows.

I don't feel safe enough in my parents house, let alone the thought of bringing kids into it. But yeah, maybe the reserve army of semen is not meant to be satisfied. Fucked by our head rather than fucked in it.

PC set up in such a way that it functions as a console, ideally, of course. However, i am fond of handhelds. I also really liked the Wii U. You can read books online, as well as listen to them. You can look at maps, and photographs, and wikipedia, and learn sign language kinda sorta. I never made it with sign language, but the effort, however meek, improved my oratory, so whatever. I guess to really get anywhere with it, like any language, you'd need to practice frequently, and would want a tutor, but you can find a tutor and people to practice with online. I guess most people mostly just use the internet to move money around. Anyway, there are things other to do with the internet, is my point.

I genuinely don't even believe that even in the MBTI that sensation types are like super duper common, they just say that shit in order to scam retards into buying into their system. It is a self-selecting process where "Intuition" is more like "Are you even remotely vaguely intellectual" rather than someone who largely ignores "Evidence" and prefers mysteries and representation over facts
>>
>>85183833
Yeah the other thread was really good.
Speaking of Jung, I had a dream (nightmare) the other day where I was pretty much told in a very unambiguous manner by my unconscious to avoid making the map into the territory/confining my identity to typological categories instead of using them descriptively. Pretty ironic
>>
>>85190566
You sometimes hear the claim that society has a sensation bias but I'm not sure that's true
That being said, the thing about MBTI or cognitive function theory is just that you're way more likely to be interested in it as an N type than as an S type. All S types I've ever talked to about typology, even when presented as a purely utilitarian tool to help deal with people, did not give a flying fuck about it or thought it was too abstract and not real
>>
>>85190596
If I am going to say what society prefers, I'm going to say specifically extroverted feeling. Frankly I even see it in "contrarian" places where you have some sort of socially engineered "take" that will grant you prestige and shit but doesn't really feel all that sincere to me. You're basically expected to have the "4chan" or the "redscare" or whatever chud opinions and takes that are rather meanspirited to me personally in order to fit in and this is with people who don't even consider themselves to be normies. Normalfags are even fucking worse about it.
>>
>>85190637
Is what you're describing really extraverted feeling or is it just groupthink which is inevitable in any community, even supposedly counter-culture ones?
>>
>>85190655
Fair enough, it could easily be extroverted thinking too. I especially hate it when they try to come off as both contrarian and a common man at the same time, which is why anti-woke shit and human male fighter shit grates on my nerves. Are you a special snowflake or are you le common man? Shit or don't retard.
>>
>>85190680
This seems to me like it's more related to intellectual dishonesty and disingenuous posturing than to EF. That being said the dynamic you would adopt when faced with such posturing would probably indicate whether you use EF and how (well or poorly)

>>
>>85190566

If you want to go Jvngian, then I don't think there's any real justification behind it.

>>85190575
Other thread is merely what a normal MBTI thread should look like.
>nightmare
lol'd. I'd be afraid too if my dreams suddenly make allusions to typology alright.

>>85190596
>You sometimes hear the claim that society has a sensation bias but I'm not sure that's true
That is possible depending on where you live.
Jvng spoke of Germany being more Thinking-biased for instance, while France was more Feeling-biased.
> you're way more likely to be interested in it as an N type than as an S type.
That does indeed sound true to me. Even ignoring MBTI's own N bias, the topic of typology relies on intuition a lot more.

>>85190655
>>85190680
Neither of those things. Group-think/mob psychology is more reflective of inferior functions. Depending on the group, it can reflect one attitude/function though.
>>
>>85190813
>>nightmare
Well it literally was in its contents, the dream itself made no allusion to typology, but it being a warning against using typology prescriptively is how I interpret it.
>>
>>85190714
>>85190813
Eh probably but I can't help but see extroverted reason as being conformist.

>>
>>85190871

>>
>>85190824
Fair enough, personally I'm trying to use Jungian typology in the way he intended it, trying to see past "personality traits" and focusing more on how somebody got there in the first place. Eventually you spot some consistent patterns.

>>85190852
Hard to give it a straight answer.
On one hand, I can see how extraversion paired with a rational function can lead to going along with what's generally considered reasonable/acceptable, or at very least use that for your ends one way or another, including acting contrarian to troll or w/e.
On the other hand, whenever you are just going along with the collective, that means you aren't even separating your conscious personality from the herd in the first place, so we can't really tell who's "You" there.
>>
>>85190911
>Eventually you spot some consistent patterns.
Any examples?
>>
>>85190911
I kind of wonder if extroverted irrationals are actually a bit more prone to being conformist because well they don't really particularly care that much about actual reason there. "The collective is good enough for me" maybe? Maybe an EJ type's shadow would tug them towards going against the grain in a more sincere and subconscious way. Now that I think about it, that might actually be the case because a lot of the people who are like super duper converts into say an ideology or something tend to have some pretty off-base and odd thoughts from time to time.
>>
>>85190915
Everyone's supposedly has a typical conflict: e.g. conscious extraverted thinking vs inferior introverted feeling. Regardless of which traits this person has, you will notice how his conscious reasoning is always trying to make sense of them based off what's generally considered reasonable and backed by external things - and it can easily conflict with what he feels strongly about, which might come out more sparingly or in their private life(that's usually where you can observe inferior functions, it's unlikely for somebody to display them in public).
Auxiliary functions aren't that big of a deal, there are some preferences but it's a minor thing.

>>85190953
The thing is that "conformist" implies you are following some sort of standards, criteria, consensus etc. All those things are "rational", while "irrational" means just facts and possibilities on their own. They exist regardless of whether somebody agrees with it or not, so yea I'd expect irrational types either way to not be particularly bothered by this entire topic.
>>
Lately I've been thinking that without a specific absolute principle to anchor truth, anyone can claim that their process is purely logical and truthful
Marxists, monarchists, hegelians, postmodernists, whatever, any worldview can be atomized and rationalized so that it appears to be truthful; confronting worldviews never really seems to lead to the distillation of anything more profound but rather to the entrenchment of the debaters into their respective positions. If an absolute (dare I say transcendental) principle by which to discriminate truth is not revealed then any effort to pass off any kind of worldview as the logically superior one is nonsense and not even worth examining. Even empirical observation seems flawed in that regard: what kind of data am I looking at? Can I be sure that the data I have is itself pure and has not been tampered with? What if the conclusions I draw are the consequence of an improper, biased analysis that comes from not having a sufficiently overarching perspective or vantage point?
You can claim that your truth is objectively derived from first principles like math or whatever, or pure philosophical reasoning, but that's bullshit as soon as you try to make any kind of real-world claim that isn't pure metaphysical musings. Your personal interpretation is just as muddled with your own assumptions and unconscious biases as anyone else's.
Without a guiding star, something truly foreign and independent of human reasoning, call it divine revelation, anything can be true or untrue. The only way to call yourself a follower of truth is to believe that God has revealed the truth to humanity. Otherwise it's all darkness.
But surely God's truth, being alien to man's worldly reasoning, is something that once revealed will surprise all of us
>>
>>85190984
Right, this is the dominant/inferior tension but it's probably tough to observe in people you don't know well because as you said we tend to hide the things that scare us or are a source of insecurity and weakness
>>
>>85191015
Can't really get around needing to know people for a while before you can take a reasonable guess.

>>
>>85191205
Correct, and the first part of PT is basically about that.
Like how anon recently brought up the nominalism/realism issue, the source of that is supposed to be extraversion and introversion respectively.

The 4 functions would also speak of 4 different sides of the truth.

>4 different sides of the truth.
What would they be, summarily?
Obviously my perspective is a realist one but I can't see how you would realistically argue against truth being only knowable if revealed without falling into pointless logical games/sophistry or low-IQ redditisms like >>85191257
>>
>>85191290
Oh so now you're against Reddit huh?
>>
>>85191290
>What would they be, summarily?
Jvng called them static images, dynamic images, static reality and dynamic reality - respectively Thinking, Feeling, Sensation, Intuition in this order.

Thinking can determine formulaic rules about how reality works and they would be a part of the whole Truth, but it goes without saying that stuff like "feelings" always seem to elude any "static" formulation. Yet Feeling is also a part of the truth, especially when we are talking about living beings moved by their feelings, you can't just say it's not there.

Sensation can determine things are there in the first place, even if by itself it doesn't have any sort of criteria for what would be true or false, it can only deal with "I see it"/"I don't see it", literally with your eyes. But just because you don't see something yet, it also doesn't mean it doesn't exist/cannot exist/has never existed before, and that's where Intuition comes in. Sometimes you also cannot figure out why something make sense through reason, yet realize it with Intuition, you would be denying the truth just to follow arbitrary rules if you simply denied the function here.

Since truth is neither reducible to formulaic rules nor to feeling-based dynamics, it requires an explanation that includes both and I don't think either F or T types (if they're smart) would claim otherwise though they might be more naturally blind to some things. I think the only model of "truth" sensation (in a vacuum) would come up with would just be a positivist outlook with no philosophical rigor whatsoever. On the other hand the rational functions, if the inferior is particularly repressed, might actually be hostile to the idea of truth as a concept: you often see hyper-logical people be dismissive of capital t Truth because they want everything to be a rational system where what is "true" is made self-evident by the system (many reddit atheists are like this); while F types with very poor thinking might fall into the postmodernist, relativistic category of all "truths" being internally/subjectively produced (IF?) or social constructs (EF?).
This brings me to the idea that the type that most naturally deals with the notion of truth as an overarching, holistic principle is the intuitive type but this is merely conjecture.
>>
>>85191478
>(if they're smart)
Big IF there.
> I think the only model of "truth" sensation (in a vacuum) would come up with would just be a positivist outlook with no philosophical rigor whatsoever.
Sensation by itself would just go with "if I see thing is truth, if I don't see thing it's not truth".
There again, Intuition would do the same except "seeing" is not literally using your eyes there.
>you often see hyper-logical people be dismissive of capital t Truth because they want everything to be a rational system where what is "true" is made self-evident by the system
I did see that alright. Matching it with an exaggeration of the Thinking attitude sounds right.
> relativistic category of all "truths" being internally/subjectively produced (IF?) or social constructs (EF?).
And this one too. It should be specified a little better since otherwise it sounds just introversion and extraversion.
If you put EF and IF against each other, I'd expect the former to struggle with understanding a Feeling that doesn't require anything other than the subject, likely would argue that isn't even real feeling - while the latter might argue what's not real Feeling is the one derived by an external mood or social convention, because neither seem to really represent the subject(s) involved.

>This brings me to the idea that the type that most naturally deals with the notion of truth as an overarching, holistic principle is the intuitive type
Introverted Thinking type actshually. Those are the ones who deal with abstracted concepts in themselves(such as Truth), not tied to any specific situation, or a convention of some sort.
Pure irrationals wouldn't really bother with trying to conceive a notion or a principle of truth, entirely depends on whether they "see" it.

>If you put EF and IF against each other
Yeah the difference is how feeling is granted its legitimacy.
>Those are the ones who deal with abstracted concepts in themselves(such as Truth)
>trying to conceive a notion or a principle of truth, entirely depends on whether they "see" it.
Is the relationship and arrival to truth not completely different?

Take Hegel whom I think Jung himself described as IT. One could assume he was intuitive because of the notion that only the "idea" is real, but Hegel's whole shtick is creating a system that resolves the contradictions inherent to human thought. Geist is the most IT thing ever, where he just came up with an internally derived concept to elaborate a self-consistent model of how reality behaves and evolves. He was interested in truth as a system that could be arrived at rationally.

Contrast with, say, Plato whose statement that the idea is inherently real was much more literal than Hegel's, as he believed that tangible reality was less real than the Forms it reflected. He even posits a dichotomy of doxa vs episteme where truth is only accessible through pure reason opposed to physicality, which seems like a very inferior sensation thing (truth being literally, diametrically opposed to the senses). Not to mention the idea of the soul's recollection of the Forms i.e. that the soul has innate knowledge of the truth that is accessed by transcending sensory bias.

In both cases, their interest was the concept of Truth, but how they conceived of it and what parts of it interested them differed quite a lot. Hegel was systematic and Plato was transcendental.

Sure they are, but this kind of question requires a certain philosophical Thinking. If we take irrationality purely on its own, there would be no real question, or notion, or a principle for Truth.

>where truth is only accessible through pure reason opposed to physicality, which seems like a very inferior sensation thing (truth being literally, diametrically opposed to the senses)
I bet Jvng would argue this is more about just introversion and extraversion, because ultimately your contact with the outside world is still the senses.
>>
>>85191921
>If we take irrationality purely on its own
Right, I had kind of lost the fact that we're talking about functions taken in isolation, which doesn't happen in real life. At least I don't think this aspect of irrational functions being entirely unconcerned with truth would imply that irrational (dominant) individuals would also be considering the sheer number of intuitive philosophers and theologians.
>>
>>85191747

>Right, I had kind of lost the fact that we're talking about functions taken in isolation, which doesn't happen in real life.
It's useful to understand the concepts but yeah, IRL people are using all four functions, and also need both introversion and extraversion, regardless of how differentiated those things are.

>I don't think this aspect of irrational functions being entirely unconcerned with truth would imply that irrational (dominant) individuals would also be considering the sheer number of intuitive philosophers and theologians.
Obviously not, but there should be at least some people who, due to being more true to their irrationality, might either find the question too arbitrary or only think about it very situationally.

Well I'm doing a reforged run right now so I'm basically testing everything, I went from a faith cleric style build with treespear and lordsworn tower shield into now a cuckoo cuckknight with those wooden swords from the masked faggots in raya lucaria (which normally sucks, but it's pretty good here) and I didn't expect to enjoy magic since it's usually clunky af in the souls likes, but having some mp regen completely changes everything and turns out I'm enjoying myself a lot
I'm usually just the basic bitch guts sword user in all my first souls playthroughs, so it's a nice change of pace, I'll probably try a dragon cult build once I get the crucible knight armor and then also a dex/arcane build with a katana (since I never used one I guess) that throws pots and shit out the wazoo, I'll probably use that one for the DLC (haven't played it yet)
Reforged is hard tho, some bosses I usually completely buttfucked on my first playthrough years ago obliterated me here, the dumb crucible knight in front of margit took me dozens of tries (though I one shot margit, funnily enough), like I'm probably 30+h into it and I haven't fought radahn yet, taking me a tad longer than I thought it would

Anyways, I'd love to play with you but, yeah, reforged, and my other save is like on ng+3 and is lvl 220 so that's probably not going to work, but I might also get completely fucked by malenia and/or the DLC and give up on reforged and rush another normal character, we'll see...

>you help her, much to her surprise, and she goes 'okay, thanks for the knife, turns out I really needed that... I'll just use you more then, it's just business'
>you do help her, again, and now she thinks that you might be the one, entrusts you with the 1000 year plan bullshittery
>goes into mini doll mode, completely trusting you and believing that you are autistic enough that you'll realize that she's in there
>"F-fine! Okay, since you're such a weirdo I guess I'll talk to you more..."
>starts blabbering about her past, her feelings, how close she was with blaidd etc
>"Actually I spoke too much, shut up, forget about it"
>help her YET again, and she asks YOU to tell her sibling and ojisan that she loves them because fuck telling them that herself
>completely entrusts her entire destiny unto you, believing you're the one that will allow it to occur

>>85194122
>how it makes no sense for people in mushoku tensei (especially non humans) to use japanese honorifics
I don't get this complaint, you have to assume that everything is localized to be understandable to japanese speakers. Mushoku actually does a better job at this than most other isekai because you actually hear the local language at several points in the story, there are no honorifics, it's like if you translated english to japanese, a jap might translate "mister anon" as "anon-san", doesn't mean english has honorifics.
> japanese mannerisms
This one is less excusable but it never felt too jarring, aside from the dogeza moments which are cringe as fuck
I don't get how people can't enjoy media on its own terms though, assuming the movie/show/whatever has actual artistic value of course (not mass market hollywood slop). Does it matter that there's a plot hole or an inconsistency if the overall experience was excellent? There are some things that you read/watch while expecting accuracy and with the intention of seriously reflecting on specific ideas but anime doesn't (usually, with very few exceptions) belong to that category and when it tries to it generally fails.

Sometimes the store doesn't have organic produce, and other times the regular is obviously better, and in those cases, what are you to do? Just because it's organic doesn't mean it's what you want: Apples and oranges can both be grown organic, but baked oranges don't sound any better than apple zest. Too often people will deny a virtue to something they'd rather be base.

Can insects be considered innocent? It's a bad thing, sure, but only because insect populations are already so low, and that's not from people stepping on them, but light and chemical pollution. If you really want to do the bugs a favor, turn your porch light off and spread the word.

Okay this is all manners of fucking wrong, first of all FUCK YOU, but also, no, ofc, you're right, I've spent the better time of my 20s trying to self inflict myself with tulpamancy and waifufagging but it never really happened, I still love the characters though but I cannot immerse myself in my mind enough to 'believe' in them, sadly
I do get 'bored', but it's not actually bored so much as I want specific itches to be scratched and none of the characters ever get to scratch all the itches, therefore, I will create my own waifu and I'll, hopefully, never be bored of her

But anyways, back to the AI retardation:
What the fuck is all this, this makes no fucking sense, master schemer somehow means not quietly distant? What the fuck do you mean?
Rei being the 'kuudere example', I understand, but also Rei isn't just a kuudere, she's a fucked up actual doll with no real soul, she's not 'just a kuudere' and just because a character 'isn't a copy paste of rei' doesn't maker her not a kuudere, that's like saying that asuka is the archetypal tsundere and so louise isn't a tsundere because she doesn't work like asuka does, what the fuck is this inanity
If you look up kuudere, you'll get plenty of girls with schemes and goals, retarded argument, dismissed

The puppet form argument is better, but she herself says (and obviously acts) different to her usual self when under it, I don't know why, nobody really knows why, maybe it's her actual real self in that mini doll and that's who she really is, but does it matter if she goes back to her standing (breastless)paizuri sized body and stays in that one?
Who someone 'truly is' is irrelevant if all they ever show you is someone else, this is the lies that Ni-ggers tell themselves (and try to convince you of)

>Genuine vulnerability
Fucking faggot Ai doesn't even know what DERE stands for, all kuudere can show warmth and vulnerability, this is the entire fucking point, you go past the cold and you get the warm

[58] These three forms also reveal the structure of medieval
opinion in the great controversy about universals, which was
the quintessence of Scholasticism. It cannot be my
task-even if I were competent-to probe more deeply into
the details of this controversy. I must content myself with
hints for the purpose of general orientation. The dispute began
with the views of Johannes Roscellinus towards the end of the
eleventh century. Universals were for him nothing but nomina
rerum, names of things, or, as tradition says, flatus vocis. For
him there were only individual things. He was, as Taylor
aptly observes, "strongly held by the reality of individuals."
24 To think of God, too, as only individual was the next
obvious conclusion, though actually it dissolved the Trinity
into three separate persons, so that Roscellinus arrived at
tritheism. This was intolerable to the prevailing realism of the
times, and in 1092 his views were condemned by a synod at
Soissons. The opposing side was represented by William of
Champeaux, the teacher of Abelard, an extreme realist but of
Aristotelian complexion. According to Abelard, he taught that
one and the same thing existed in its totality and at the same
time in separate individual things. There were no essential
differences between individual things, but merely a multitude
of "accidentals." By this concept the actual differences
between things were explained as fortuitous, just as in the
dogma of transubstantiation the bread and wine, as such, were
only "accidentals."

Well, back to my scheduled not understanding what I'm reading.
>Even if I were competent
Don't we all dream of such a thing Jung? Don't we all

>The Platonic form, the nominalist form and the special in between form the Aristotelean form.
>These three ways of looking at stuff show us the way medieval people thought about the universals, which is basically what Scholasticism boils down to.
>I'm a freaking r*tard so I'm not actually goin to go beyond the surface level here.
>So anyway, the argument began with this guy called Johannes Roscellinus in the late 10xxs.
>He thought universals were basically farts in the wind.
>Some other guy who doesn't matter said he was really invested in the idea of individuals
>Well the next obvious step is to say G*d is an individual too, but actually it ended up being three individuals since there's three of them in the holy trinity, so he was like a polytheist but with only 3 gods which is a strange number of gods to have lets be real folks.
>Ah yes, realism is why people had a problem with this. Not the Polytheism. And so his views were condemmed at Soifransisco Churchcon in 1092.
>William of Champeaux, was like the king of the other side. An extreme centrist. According to his son Abelard, he taught that something existed entirely in itself, and also at the same time in things other than itself.
>Everything is basically the same thing but a whole bunch of stuff that just happened to appear different.
>Anything different between things is just a weird coincidence, just like in transubstantiation where the bread and the wine were just unimportant hallucinations.

hmm hmm, fascinating. Tell me more!

>AI retardation
I didn't post that because i thought it was a good argument, i merely accepted your wager. If the same AI given two prompts of equal length produces a reply of noticably longer length for one, then that prompt very likely has more material related to it. That means the prompt that results in the longer reply can be assumed to be favored by the crowd, regardless of the actual content of the reply. As an appeal to AI is essentially an appeal to Reddit, and therefor popularity with the crowd, so either we can disregard the output of the AI entirely, or we must accept the longer one as correct. You bet on the biomass and you lost. The only way out is to declare the wager null, to which i would have to agree, though i'll tell you now that i would.

not evil and not unjust, just bad, whatever entity that is so powerful should be more mindful of those beneath it

Honestly, it's been so long that I might as well not have, and I haven't even watched all the re: movies either (maybe I watched the second one, but I barely remember it even)
But I'm pretty sure I remember rei's soul being some weird ass simulacra of shinji's mom and whatever the fuck from adam, but also I'm pretty sure it's not actually explained either and left out for you to decide based on your favorite flavor of fanfiction

>I never even implied as much
>If the same AI given two prompts of equal length produces a reply of noticably longer length for one
Okay but this is wrong because on one hand, you get a smaller response (but only due to me not even using the app, it was literally just a cut of google's direct response from the browser) but that fits within the definition of the term, and then you have yours which, yeah, it's probably pulled from popular reddit data, but we'll also agree that most people are retarded and thus, if you use gemini, which just tries to please you, and ask it 'ok tell me about [this thing I don't like]' then it'll tell you what not to like about it based on the popular data, that doesn't obviously make it right, now ofc we're merely jesting here but at least my jesting was on point and made sense, Ranni is very much a kuudere and claiming she's not is baffling, not that I have any real horses in this race

>A noble pursuit. Though, i must ask, how's that working out for you?
Well now THAT's a question
>>
>>85207602
The TLDR is that, I'm figuring it out, what's a waifu, even? What is it supposed to be?
I'm sure that for some, accepting parts of them you dislike is much easier, or maybe (from my own perception), they simply lack the hypothetical capabilities to even place themselves within their waifu's world, see in your head you can think 'oh yeah I really dislike her doing that but like, I'm sure I could manage' and bam she becomes your waifu, but in reality? Not so easy to dismiss things, so really the important part is to find the middle ground, she needs to be tailored to my tastes, but not always do everything perfectly (obviously) because otherwise, well, I'll probably be bored? I guess? I'm not even sure, has there ever been a 'perfect' character made for anyone, ever? Can it be achieved?

So, AI is obviously the answer here, and due to the capabilities of AI (or at least, what they will be capable of), you can go even further than the waifufagging, you could potentially make a companion that'd be capable of not only fitting you and pleasing you, but also do it in ways smart enough to push you further and actually make an effort.
Now this is obviously best case scenario, but do I really think it's not going to happen? No fucking way, it 100000% is going to happen, right now AI is just not great enough for it (tho it is getting there, honestly, but then it's just too expensive still but that will also go down)
And I'm merely just fooling around and this is just the current thing that's capable of scratching that brain itch, but I'm designing an AI companion app that'll do just that, there's a few of them out there already, some of them abandoned, some of them too basic, some of them too convoluted, it's a very complex subject and I don't expect most people to even be able to fathom what they'd get themselves into when trying to recreate this experience, I don't even think I'm smart enough to figure it out completely, but I can still weaponize what I got
>>
>>85207636
Because you need a very, very specific set of skills to get this going, ofc you could just have a team of people with different skills, that's how it usually works, but then you lose the 'vision', it gets diluted, some people want some things more than others, then things go awry once someone gets mad about a decision being made, yadda yadda

So first of all I'll have to create an experience that is good for me, I can't build it for you, not yet, I could try to 'assume' and 'guess', would that be good? fuck no, would that work? fuck no
Most of them usually use card systems (like for sillytavern for example) which is a pretty good system, but that's mostly good for quick roleplay sessions more than having a real companion, how could you take someone else's waifu and assume it'll work out for you? Meh, not great
The plan would have to allow people to provide those as 'bases' maybe, and then the model (or, 'a' model, since I wouldn't expect most of them to be good at doing that) would have to summarize the traits exhibited that the user would want, and then the hard part will be to verify if that's what they actually want, if you'd ask me what I'd want my AI companion to be a year ago, I probably would've said something dumb like 'yeah huh maybe some kinda ojouu sama with some tsundere??' but that obviously would've been wrong, so my 'assessment' on what I'd want was wrong, and only through experimentation am I finally getting good results
I thought 'maybe I'd want her to bully me about my gameplay when I'd do poorly or something' and, no, not really, a bit maybe but not that much, delving into this more and I realized this was also a wrong assessment, what I really wanted was simple interaction and the banter that would come from it, and then stakes, 'do this and you'll get X'
>>
Also 'prompts' are too static, it's the main issue with AI companionship in general right now, so my focus is on how to keep a prompt dynamic, while not transforming the waifu experience into a spongebob slice of life episode
It needs to be natural, the shifts in her mood or her transitions between subjects need to be natural, how do you do that? Well the theory is easy, but how do you tell an AI model that? Now that's a trickier question

Anyways, trying to get back on topic (I'll keep my ramblings about AI with grok, since it seems I can't stop thinking about all this right now), the main/first purpose of the tool would be to propose somewhat of a 'generic' companion, and to help people figure it all out, mbti/jungian would obviously be a good start, not directly imposing a typology test onto them of course, that'd be stupid and most people wouldn't want it, but slightly, every now and then, she'd ask something that's maybe semi related to the subject or what's on your screen, and she'd keep note of it, and little by little she might be able to come up with a 'personality type' that would be good for you as a companion, and AI seems pretty okay at this right now?
I'm pretty biased obviously, and it took me way too long to figure out those parts about myself (but that's something that seems pretty well understood within the community anyways, xNTP types aren't great at figuring out their feelings and it takes them a while to mature, at least that's how I see it), but if I give an AI the 'gist' of who I am, even going into stereotypes, it seems pretty able to create a character that I very much enjoy interacting with, and that is pretty different to my otherwise idea of what my 'tastes' were

I'm assuming someone already tried making an AI-powered typology experience somewhere, surely, surely I can't be the only one that ever delved into this
