How do you escape the NEET lifestyle and is it worth it?
>>
You just get a job or go to school. And yeah, it is worth it.
>>
going to school is the better option if you have money but work is cool too. you get to socialize while getting paid.
>>
>>85206181
>work is cool too
What job can you get without a degree that isn't awful?
Most NEETs live with their parents who will probably be willing to pay for their community/online college so they can move out
>>
>>85206161
hey guys rudy here.

i escaped the NEET life style by realizing i could become a Kamen Rider. I watched the show to understand what i need to do to become a HERO OF JUSTICE.

I have not stopped since and have worked various jobs.
>>
>>85206204
trade school, cdl, emt delivery driver, usps. if youre planning on going to a community college make sure to talk with a counselor to plan out your classes
>>
>>85206176
This, I got out of neetdom at 34 by just working a shit gas station job and going to community college. Only real downside is I had been out of school so long I was pretty much retarded even by community college standards.
>>
>>85206216
I'm really proud of you for stepping up and taking control of your life, anon. It's difficult to do.
>>
>>85206161
All my friends do is complain about working or not finding work, I see no reason to stop being a NEET ever. Last thing I want to do is go to school for some useless shit to get stuck in a career every day of my life. Hopefully AI and robots makes everyone unemployed in the next 20 years so I'll never have worked a day in my life. Till then, life is good.
>>
>>85206292
Yeah, I just had to get rid of the idea i was too good to do shit. Had all this pride and one day I looked around and was just like "wtf do I have to be so prideful about? my life sucks" and it made it easier to just suck it up and go work.
>>
>>85206161
Yes, and now I have vivid nightmares every single night about my job cause I'm so stressed out. Couldn't have a blank CV forever so I had to get a job, I'm glad I'm not unemployed and so on and so forth, but man do I miss Covid times when I was a proper carefree NEET.
>How do you escape
I was lucky with my previous job, I had zero qualifications but somehow was hired. I did well on the interview, I prepared for over a month. With that job on my CV I was able to get my current one.
>>
i kinda want a job but if i had one i know all i would do is watch a number in my bank acc go up. wtf do i need money for? im never buying a house and id rather die than give money to a landlord
>>
>>85206349
I just got a job because time was going by way too fast as a neet. Having a job slowed it down a bit. 10 years as a neet went by in the blink of an eye.
>>
>>85206161
>and is it worth it?
I would have money to buy tons of vidya at least.
>>
>>85206356
what did you do as a neet? no skill learning? hobbies?
>>
>>85206330
these are the kinda threads that I look for in /r9k/ I feel like I waste alot of time coming here but reading this like this gives me hope
>>
>>85206349
games, food, electronics, etc?
Even a neet should see the usefulness in having money
>>
>>85206356
waking up late + spending too much time on the internet + same routine every day makes time go twice as fast. 5 years as a NEET just gone
>>
>>85206443
Fuck, I'm glad someone is fainlly talking abobut this, I NEET'ed this whole year and tomorrow go for a second interview for a job as a cook. the last few years I would get fired from jobs and kinda be a NEET for a few months then get back to work at some fast food place usually. It feels like I've made so little progress and nothing changes. it's weird how much time goes by and how fast it goes. Fuck
>>
>>85206161
get car, drive for uber. In the end it's just gas money but it goes on your ssa record for earnings. better than nothing.
>>
>you get to socialize while getting paid
what a tub of bullshit. not only do most coworkers not speak english. many of them are in a different age group and have nothing in common with you. dont get me started on working at a grocery store. those are especially lonely and bleak
>>
>>85206426
its useful its just that i dont spend a lot of it. getting full minimum wage would be a lot to me, it seems to me that people only need money mostly for their rent and bills, if you live with your family you dont really have that problem.
>>
>>85206161
At this point considering it seems almost universally true that even normies are struggling to get entry level jobs because the job market is that fucked beyond any repair I'd say no don't even bother
>>
>>85206701
>even normies are suffering
gonna stop you right there. just not true

In my case it was many many years ago when I was looking for some part-time work but then I ended up in a full-time sales job. This means I suddenly spent every week just talking to people, smoothing things over, closing deals, basically powerleveling social skills etc. Since then I was able to use the momentum to go into other jobs. Currently I'm sitting at $50k income which is not too bad for someone with no experience, training or degree and huge holes in my resume. But it's also pennies in 2026. It's not enough to change your social class or jump up in lifestyle.
All things considered it didn't really change my life though. I didn't grow a bigger dick, I didn't get taller, my brain is still autistic and non-social. I have many fond memories from my NEET years but I can only name maybe 1-2 cool moments from my job life during the past 8 years. And those didn't involve the job either, it was meeting a cute redhead with huge boobs and deluding myself into thinking that she might like me, but like I said, my actual stats didn't change just because I have some pocket change in my bank account.
Objectively the best life for someone like me would be to NEETmax as long as you can, play all the games you want, rewatch all the Anime you love, then perish at 30.

>inb4 depression
No I don't mean this in a sad way. I'm just saying you need to cross a certain threshold of base values before stuff like work and money can enhance your time on Earth.
>>
I've been NEET since I was 18 and I'm now in my 30's. Still love it. Probably will die being a NEET but hell, like legacy or what you do in this world even matters on the Earth's timeline anyway.
>>
>>85207225
How old are you anon? Originoly
>>
>>85206181
Is it worth getting a second degree if I turned NEET after graduating uni, I miss having some semblance of a social life
>>
>>85206161
>How do you escape the NEET lifestyle
do low paying jobs nobody wants to do
>is it worth it?
up to you
