>anime, games and other media feels boring
>going outside only makes me feel anxious
>drinking only makes me feel worse
>always too tired to work overtime
>even rotting in bed doomscrolling started making me feel anxious
>tried many hobbies but nothing sticks

wtf am I supposed to do in this life? everything sucks so bad but im too much of a pussy to kill myself, gotta wait untill my 40s when ill inevitably die from a heart attack from all the stress and terrible diet
>>
>>85240203
Your dopamine receptors are probably fried from the constant doomscrolling and fapping to lolis all day, you need to detox
>>
>>85240203
Try browsing drugfeel and hope things get better. If not, maybe you incidentally die from drug abuse.
Either the drugs will get you through, make it significantly worse, or it kills you.
>>
Yeah

I used to think I can spend my entire life on the internet and the computer

But somehow it either turned to shit or I outgrew it

Irl has no appeal so I don't really know what to go for nowadays
>>
>>85240224
not a gooner, i only masturbate once a day, sometimes not even that
>>
>>85240203
>going outside only makes me feel anxious
So keep doing it ?
>>
>>85240267
>only once a day
Bro, you are a gooner.
>>
>>85240242
>>85240203
how the fack did anime and games lose their appeal to you guys?

I was into games for a while. but i never got into anime. the anime thing seemed comfy but also possibly dangerous.
>>
>>85240288
honestly i don't even know, at some point i started getting bored after like 10 minutes of watching /playing and just turn it off
>>
>>85240303

Hmm, maybe you could try reading a physical book? or something like that.

also, just curious,
do you own physical media or was it mostly all downloaded from ultra niche websites/places that only 4chan users would know?
>>
>>85240203
ya idk i just do drugs and make art lol. im kinda fucked and have know that since i was a kid. anytime i actually feel the urge to make friends, do activities, get a job, basically anything life changing irl it seems like some insane mania taking over, then i crash and cut everyone off and give it all up so why bother. most stuff is boring to me too anon.

There are only a select few animes that are actually worth watching (mostly shows released before the 2010s) because 90% of them are absolute slop
>>
>>85240320
tried already, boring like any other media
>>
>>85240324
true, i didn't know that. I thought there was like... maybe hundreds? I first arrived on 4chan in 2005 so I have known about anime for ages but I only ever watched the ones that were on tv, like DBZ, pokemon, digimon, and a bit of card captor sakura iirc? and sailor moon.

I just got so into games back in the day that I never had time left over for anime so it was always something i knew about and vaguely heard things about but after all these years i know nothing about it. Which feels strange considering this was basically a website for anime.

A more serious 'anime' (more serious than the others I listed, in the sense of, it appearing to be for adults rather than children) that immediatly pops into my mind is Neon Genesis Evangelion. Is that one of the top animes?
>>
>>85240338
damn.
honestly only thing I can think of hten is to get really into developing your physique. if you hve the time for it, live a strict routine, gym 6 days a week, 1 day rest. follow a good training program that suits your body (if you have any issues) and hits all muscle groups. eat whole foods, get great quality sleep.

41 here. Thought I'd be dead by now too but I'm still kicking. I felt the same way when I was a bit younger.

wtf am I supposed to do in this life? this is going to sound fucking trite but something you enjoy.

Two of mine are tracking license plates and low leveling jrpgs. I know they're odd but I like them and make me want to live haha
>>
>>85240339
Oh yeah 100%, honestly I'd consider Evangelion to be one of my comfort animes because I occasionally rewatch it every now and then. A lot of younger people don't see the hype since the show is 30 years old but I believe that art is timeless.
>>
>>85240376
i've heard the art work was better around the late 80s and early 90s? not sure if that is the best info, just heard it ages ago. Iv'e seen some clips from an anime made aroun that time, can't remember waht it was, but it was super complex and did look awesome.
>>
>>85240203
This comic is me since December.
It's now closer to December than it is from it.
I've tried making things work but this world, I don't fit into it.
I sometimes think I should pick up skateboarding, drop in on some bowls, and then I decide against it.
I don't even want to go outside anymore.
The things inside, I am just done doing things.
No electronics, no meme projects like Trigger Me Elmo
Ganes aren't even fun. It'sbehat I do. But they aren't fun.
What else is there?
Health issues.
Funerals for my parents.
The world getting small and messy affordable daily.
That's what.
>>
>>85240401
it had more soul because it was mostly drawn by hand

it's 10+ years old now. but little witch academia is my go-to comfort anime.

also azumanga daioh when I'm feeling reeeeealy nostalgic
>>
>>85240411
yeah that makes sense to me. and is a good point.
>>
>>85240401
Prior to the 2000s everything was hand drawn so yes that is definitely true. I don't have anything against shows that were animated using digital tools but I feel like some of the best shows are the ones that were released when a lot of our modern technology was still in its infancy.
>>
>>85240436
yeah, the people working on those animes, hand drawing them and all that, would have become freakishly good at it over time
>>
>>85240203
You can drink and work overtime. Workaholic and alcoholic both at once.
>>
>>85240565
I personally am a workaholic for many years. I was helplessly addicted to workahol.
>>
>>85240565
don't drink alcohol
don't become an alcoholic
that is really bad for health
it sucks

Easier said than done when you're 20 years in anon...guess it sucks to be me
>>
>>85240638
yeah that is tough. i was about 10 years in. be carefull, don't go cold turkey you can die from it.

you can get sober though it will just take time and being smart about it.

the same dude who was sober is still there.

I'm still not ready to get sober even though I should.

Shit, I'm 41.

I don't drink all the time but when I do I tend to binge.

Life isn't bad but isn't great. Waiting to get laid off and becoming a NEET.

Never had much luck with women, being 5'6" doesn't help lol

Not sure where I go from here.
>>
>>85240735

well I'm NEET right now. idk your situation but if oyu need cash I hope you keep your job.

best thing to do is to give up alcohol but do it slowly so you don't harm yourself. Maybe doing some journalling will help you get clearer on when you may be ready to cease drinking alcohol.

After you get sober, then I think you should get into the gym. get a strict 6 day routine. push/pull/legs x2. so you hit push, pull, and legs twice in 6 days. if you have any physical issues put them into an ai liek claude and tell them to give you a 6 day routine and they'll pump one out for you. eat clean wholefoods. and get quality sleep.

Thanks anon.

I've tried journaling in the past but it hasn't worked.

I don't do it everyday but I regularly play DDR/PIU/SMX a few times a week, but that's strictky cardio. I should learn strength training.
>>
>>85240768
yeah that is good for cardio.
strength training is great.
A few years ago I got way stronger than i'd ever been and it felt great.
I'm out of shape now but going to get back into it soon. I know what it feels liek to be strong and what it feels like to be weak and I prefer strong.

Also, if the journalling didn't work, you could look into somatic therapy. Sometimes our emotions are sort of... 'push down' inside us and they can live in our body in a way, until we let them out via crying and such. Somatic therapy can help release them.

I have to head to bed real soon, I definitely wish you the best with sobriety and getting into strength training man.

No matter how bad you think it is now, it will be way worse in 10 years, so try to enjoy yourself.
Personally most of I do on my free time is aimed towards escapism and nothing else. I'm not passionate about anything.
The only things I probably enjoy are drinking, reading, writing and being in nature.
The urge of quitting my job and moving to the countryside are getting stronger by the day.
>>
>>85240797
TY

Ive tried somatic therapy but I didn't cry.

I think, for me, in order to be leg go of my emotions, I need to be caught off guard
>>
>>85240897
Fair enough.

Maybe you could try hypnosis from a trained certified hypnotherapist? If you're able to be hypnotized they could bypass your conscious mind, could be helpful.

I'm not sure how else you could be caught off guard, that is a tough one.

Usually somatic therapy is pretty good for accessing emotions.

In any case man, I do wish the best for you and hope you can enjoy sobriety, it is great. Especially when you're training and taking good care of your body and such, it's a great way to live.
>>
>>85240907

I am open to hypnotism, but I think that 'letting your mind be hypnotized' is something that, when said, is going to make the person be less able to be hypnotized
>>
>>85240945
ideally a good trained hypnotist should be able to induce a trance-state without having to state something blunt like "let your mind be hypnotized". A famous hypnotist was Erickson who would induce trance-states via conversation.

Anyways, I do have to head off to bed now, good night man and all the best!
>>
>>85240957

ty anon, have a good sleep!
