Yeah this, I quit hard drugs and it took like a yeah to feel normal again. Probably the worst depression of my life was the first year sober, came close to killing myself a few times. Big reason I'll never touch the shit again.

Hold fast Nona? It took me three months to lose interest in drinking. After that it's easy and such a weird (but good) feeling to not get tempted by alcohol anymore. I started investing and improving overall. I game a lot more now but it's a cheap hobby so I guess it's better than feeding physical addictions that are expensive and ruin motivation.

Anyways, I'm wondering I should take up alcohol. According to this thread sobriety didn't help them and I literally feel like killing myself and have a big empty blackhole type thing in my torso that's been raping me.

i dont think a single recorded person on the planet has ever drank themselves out of a problem. it's not something that fixes anything, there's nothing romantic in it. it's basically what you resort to when everything else is suck. most alcoholics are either people who are chemically addicted to it, or people who are given up on life and prefer being intoxicated over being in reality sober.

in my case it lessens the ocd a lot. but that blackhole in your chest will always be there. if anything, youll feel it even more.

i drink stuff like yuzu sake because i like sweet people and sweet things. cost effectiveness will always be a spirit like vodka or whiskey but those are acquired tastes. i drink everything without ice anyway, and chilled glass makes most drinks taste better.
