Living by your own ideals. What you feel is right and wrong. What youd like to do. It gives you a much deeper understanding of yourself makes how you opperate in life significantly more fullfilling and makes the monotony of people less soul crushing. A lot of people have misconception about stocism assuming its about not listening to others and "Im right everybody else is wrong" but its about trusting yourself and your natural considerations influncing your intution and wants, putting those first always regardless of if theyre seemingly selfish or inconsiderate to other people or not.

If being genuine comes from a place of wanting to be true to yourself/fulfilled, it is nothing more than a whim. Then I could ask if being genuine is even real, or just something you concocted for yourself. And at that point, why would we need to justify a mindset of living by one's own ideals?
