I really have been struggling to keep myself awake doing virtually anything. Stuff that I want to do I simply cant enjoy or feel good doing. I just feel very very tired. Ive had this happen a few times where i want to do something like classes or work where I lay down on the floor of the bathrooms because im just so exhausted. Is this indicative of anything? Anybody else experience something similar and found out a solution. If I force myself to stay awake I get a bit delusional and weird.

sounds like you might have chronic fatigue

Yeah people really dont know whats wrong with me. Ive gone to my doctor and it feels like theyre as clueless as me. I think I want to get an official diagnoses for mental health stuff. I put it off for a long time (usual reasons shame, assumptions, distrust of doctors, employment). But like really I havent been able to function in any kind of "normal enviorment" for years at this point or even be very successful at the things I want to accomplish.

Usually this is what happens when you spend years developing a chronic fear of doing tasks/exerting yourself.

Psychology says that the way we feel about things is primarily based on two things, our beliefs, and our behaviors.

The belief part is, if you tell yourself things like "this is terrible" "i hate this" etc., your mind takes these claims very seriously and starts forcing whatever emotional reactions it can to get you to avoid whatever it is you're trying to get out of doing.

The behavioral part is, similarly, your mind interpreting the running away/staying frozen behaviors as something that helps your survival. Imagine if everytime you saw a frog or a spider, you ran away. That's basically what you're doing except the running away mechanism is sleeping (I had this problem before; sleep can be a fear behavior).

The solution is you have to force yourself to do these things, and while telling yourself "it's not so bad", all long-term. Unfortunately, it's not enough to just "power-through" it for a few days, because just as it took years for you to get to this point, it would take at least months for you to begin to undo it.

My advice for the short-term, try to care less about how you feel all the time. Pain is not "bad", pain is pain, but that's what makes life interesting. One day you'll look back on these days with nostalgia because at least you were doing something.

Yeah idk I kinda went in the opposite direction at one point in my life and did exactly as you describe. Not listening to that pain and forcing myself to regardless because my will to do so was so strong. Problem with that is I developed insomnia bad, I was incredibley delusional expierencing derealization heavily and it was putting me at a great deal of risk. Their might be some underlying anxiety still present even if philosophy wise I feel more comfortable and less high strung (it was something I could definetely been diagnosed with when I was younger). You are right it does help sometimes to acknowledge its not so bad idk this is something really hard not to get trapped in. Often times it can feel like past expierences are going to happen again when doing certain things. It's pretty upsetting to acknowledge that its my mental thats bad if thats the reality. I dont even really know if Im capable or want to go through the stress of fixing that if thats the case.

People were straight up disgusted by what I was trying to accomplish during that time. I dont even really know if I have a single person who genuinely wants to help me. Its just really horrific sometimes when I look at people all I feel is disgust. Im really unsure of what to do when trying to deal with this stuff and acknowledge it I get into total confusion and people begin distancing themselves from me. I even had this happen with a therapist. I dont really know what to do.
