I'm really into the paranormal in general, particularly folklore and mythology. The thing is that I'm trying to focus on following Christ's teachings and many girls who are into spooky stuff tend to be on the edgier side

Nice creative writing prompt.

How does one get into tarot cards? I want to have an excuse to talk to foids

Most women are into it somewhat. Horoscopes, tarot, and "manifesting" are all pretty popular among women. Very few women would be into it as much as you because women don't tend to have deep interests. Maybe target subcultures like hippie chicks or goth chicks where paranormal topics are baked into the subculture.
>The thing is that I'm trying to focus on following Christ's teachings
Christianity is uncool with girls in general. Christian girls tend to be giganormalfags and very uninterested in the paranormal. You might need to make compromises one way or the other and try to warm her up to whatever you're into.

that's why you gotta go for HERETICAL christianity, syncretizing it with paganism and hinduism and gnosticism and stuff. surely that should be double-cool right?

Yeah I went over to the Astrology thread and they were talking about Western Tropical! wtf man. It's like saying your hobby is cars, but you just have a few matchbox cars.

Have you tried a church?

Just buy a pack of tarot cards and look up what each card represents. You can do a one card reading for yourself each day which will help you memorize what each card represents, and you can look up more complicated card layouts as you go along. You can also make up your own layouts if you want. I don't know how good it'll be in helping you talk to women. That's initially why I got into it, but I still don't have the courage to talk to women about it. Kinda a fun hobby though

other men have tried this on them. if it works, they're being polite because you're giving them the attention they want.

one day they'll cheat on you. but it's because they're actually poly and a horoscope/dream told them it was fine.

Ah, alright. Is there different interpretations of the cards? I imagine so. I heard about this book called the meditations on the tarot, seems interesting. Is that necessary reading or is that too high level for a pleb like myself?

Kinda, there's a general understanding of what each card means, but different people will often attach their own meanings to certain cards. Also the meaning of each card can change once you get into spreads that include multiple cards. I haven't really read much of any books on tarot, just a few excerpts from pdfs you can find online. I would recommend you start out with the original Rider-Smith tarot deck, as other decks may include or exclude things that are considered important in understanding the cards. You can start out with a different tarot deck, but you should still look at the original card when learning about it

There are lot of girls into the "paranormal" ie astrology. There are 0 girls who are into ufology, cryptids, lost civilizations and cults. The cool stuff.

not true
>cryptids
not true
>lost civilizations
probably true
>cults
kinda true, depends on your definition of the word cult. lots of girls are interested in the manson family cult, but you're probably thinking of different cults
