I was in a similar situation in high school where I was friends with a bunch of people I didn't really care about and it sucked. However, there was a guy in that circle of friends who was someone I considered a true friend. He was someone I felt I could really be myself around and, not to sound like a total fag, but there really is something incredibly amazing about spending time with someone that you feel understands you. Even though we're not friends anymore, I think everybody should at least experience a friend like that once in their lifetime.
