If im poor, why shouldnt i get on food stamps? If i work a job but barely make enough to get by, why should i not indulge in the benefits offered by the state

I'm on them and the money I don't spend on groceries is money I can spend on other stuff that helps me make more money and be a more productive memebr of society in the long run (pay off library fines, pay tuition for school, pay train fare instead of fare evasion, etc).
