Looking back, I think what saved me was letting go of my pride and talking to my father again. It's incredibly difficult to survive in an already isolated society completely on your own. You have to take every opportunity to let someone reach you, even if that person is someone you have spent years resenting like your parents. Sometimes the hand that pulls you back is the one you least wanted to take.
