Does anyone actually enjoy anime anymore? It feels like its dead.

Its either weird tranny leftist freaks larping as anime watchers when in reality they just want to seem hip and with it. On the other hand it seems like everyone that use to enjoy anime back in the day no longer watches it. They might watch the occasional anime when its well made and popular but aside from that they no longer find it all that enjoyable. They no longer participate in the weaboo culture.

Am I just projecting? Did all the old weaboos just move on to vtubers? Its just so strange.

No, you are not projecting. A good chunk of anime watchers moved on to vtubers. Personally, I never got on to the craze. I just stopped watching anime and spend my days reading non-fiction, scrolling through the internet and sleeping. The medium is shit, and has been shit for a long time now.

Anime does seem boring, but manga is still cool. Mainly because there are many more series to choose from.

this, except it has nothing to do with being popular, just filling a niche that I know I'd enjoy. It had been a long time since I watched anything new, but I did end up watching Chainsmoker Cat and really enjoying it. I don't know if it's mainstream and I don't care. they really managed to nail the characters and their addictions realistically, which is something that many shows often glamorize and fall flat at. when she started doing junkie math in the first episode I was immediately hooked

anime and video games stopped being enjoyable to me about 2 years ago, im not exactly sure why. I think they used to offer an escape from the depressing realities of life, if only for a little while, and now nothing offers that kind of relief, not books, movies, or coming here. I cant get "lost" in any media anymore if that makes sense. theres always a feeling of self awareness at how bad my life is, and a feeling of deep dread that never leaves me. It really sucks. I wish I could enjoy things.
