>on the brink>think maybe i should just buy a trip to japan to get away from everything>realize it'll just be my third time going there to try do things by myself while surrounded by groups, partners traveling together, etcdoing everything in life alone is torture. everywhere you go you will be reminded of how solitary you are in a crowd.
>>85274465let's go there together, anon!
>>85274465is traveling to relieve negativity not a form of escapism? i feel like finding intrinsic fulfillment is necessary. japan is also invaded by people who don't know anything about the country.
>>85274484you are right, anon. i want to escape the rigor and torture of my life. i want to find intrinsic fulfillment, but i cannot attain that alone anymore by any means, as much as i've exhausted that path. i've been there twice already though, and i am to a degree aware of the norms. in essence, i feel trapped, which you've identified.>>85274476maybe if we knew each other... making a commitment like that with a stranger risks both people not enjoying things from no shared itinerary, splitting time and ending up resentful, etc.
>>85274735Why dont you organize a larger group from here then, sign me up too, although I mostly just wanna find cute japanese girls to flirt with
>>85274763because organizing a large group of strangers to travel with is the complete opposite of a tightly coordinated trip with someone close...>I mostly just wanna find cute japanese girls to flirt withour goals are also absolutely opposite...
>>85274735>maybe if we knew each other... making a commitment like that with a stranger risks both people not enjoying things from no shared itinerary, splitting time and ending up resentful, etc.well of course we'd have to get to know one another first and see if we got along. also I don't have yet enough money saved up to go for japan
>>85274788Thats your issue though anon, you feel alone but dont want to take measures to be more social. I understand how onstrously uncomfortable it probably makes you feel to imagine traveling with a large group or hanging out with extroverted anons thats bring you around women but thats exactly the kind of therapy you need man
>>85274807so we touch on the issues again with strangers.. it will take months to develop and get to know each other close enough, at which point we may not be compatible at all, as months of not going on the trip pass by. secondly, we are in different places financially, i want to travel lavishly and can go immediately.>>85274829i am taking a lot of measures to be more social, burning myself out in the process. just because i am not entertaining throwaway offers that have near-zero actual investment or success rate here does not mean i am not entertaining all my other options outside of this chat box.>it probably makes you feel to imagine traveling with a large group or hanging out with extroverted anonsno, how it did make me feel. i've done that before. i am speaking from experience.>thats exactly the kind of therapy you need manno, it's not. it actively makes me more stressed, pessimistic, and unstable.
>>85274763failed normalfag trash
>>85274465I've been there, OPnot in Japan though>you will be reminded of how solitary you are in a crowd.but this hits homeit happens and I don't know how to not feel thatwe can just try to enjoy our loner selves and not be jelly, I guess
It sounds like cope but some people are so socially active that they can't find the time to be alone. You can't enjoy both worlds at the same time.
>>85275470i can no longer enjoy this after drinking from that well for as long as i remember. the bucket comes back empty.>>85275500i think you are perceptive, anon! the other side of this coin is people who find themselves oversocialized against their will. from work, immediate family they can't escape, and other obligations. to them, being alone is something they never have enough of, and so to them the perspective is: "you should enjoy being alone!" because they speak from the opposite sides of the same problem, wishing for that alone time themselves.the adage is tired and trite, but it constantly rings true: all things in moderation. each extreme is equally destructive. i think this is why people talk past each other around this topic so much.
I have been doing the same. Went 3 times to Japan. Went with a friend from r9k on one of them and my mom on another. You don't have to do this alone OP
>>85275697i dont think its about winners or losers even if it is zero sum.. but i wish you luck on escaping your suffering. i know how it feels. its suffocating.>>85275728i am trying, but it is not working.
