I'm not here for advice or anything like that I just want to vent.

Earlier today I was essentially thinking to myself "wow look at that it's almost my birthday, lemme see if any of my friends are available to hang out the weekend before or after"

"If those dates don't work for you guys just let me know, my schedule is flexible and almost any day works for me haha"

This happens every goddamn time I try and plan something. EVERY TIME. I always tell these guys that I'm available outside of work and they're all just like "Okay." Whenever they want to plan something I'm always all in on it. I help them plan, and buy shit that they need, etc etc. Most recent event was this camping trip that I was helping plan with them. Everyone was genuinely excited, as was I. But something came up and I couldn't make it. They called me and said how much fun it would be if I was there and that all of us should do another trip, and I said that I would help with that. But its been nothing but crickets

Every time someone else wants to do something, everyone is on board with it. As soon as I mention an idea then its complete fucking radio silence

I haven't seen them in months

I just want a lake day for my bday. Grilled hotdogs and swimming and shit. They can drink or smoke weed or whatever the fuck I don't care. Just a few hours with them in an environment where we don't have to worry about work or anything. That's all I want. I get that everyone works and has different hours and whatever but I try and reach out to plan stuff WEEKS in advance. It feels like they can always make time for each other but not for me.As selfish as that sounds

I'm so close to the end of my rope. I have a new job with coworkers that I can't seem to mesh well with. It's like I have to put a performance on 12 hours a day. I just want to be with people that I don't feel the need to perform around

Cool vent bro. You have such a sad story. I feel so bad for you. Sorry for your loss.

I accidentally reached the character limit. But pretty much this has pushed me to my limits. I keep reaching out but I never get a response back. They never reach out to me first.

I just want to do things with people. I just want to do stuff that isn't sit inside and play video games or scroll on phone, And I do have those hobbies, I just want to share them with my friends.

I've genuinely thought about being an hero so many times. But mom will be sad and the job I just got deals with that sort of thing so I don't want that visual imprinted in my coworkers psyche

hey OP, happy early birthday! I can't speak from experience about coworker drama since I wfh but that sucks bro, it really doesn't sound like you're asking for that much to me; plus a nice cozy afternoon at the lake sounds kino. I'd hang out with ya if I could. If it makes you feel any better, I'm doing fuckall for my birthday this weekend as well; probably just gonna bedrot and do nothing all weekend kek
>pic semi related, wholesome birthday anon story

Thankfully the coworker stuff isn't really drama at all. A lot of my friends think I might actually be autistic, and that's why it feels like I have to put on a social show for the people I work with to fit in.

I'm also glad you could find something you're fine with doing on your birthday, I hope you enjoy it :)

Also also that picrel did make me laugh so thanks for that lol :p

I stopped talking to my online friends about a year ago. I stopped talking to my two irl friends a few months back. I still talk to my family, I guess, but my low effort replies and the fact I never initiate interactions has made it so they barely try to contact me anymore. I only come to post on 4chan every few months.

I don't feel lonely in the slightest, though. I have the occasional thought about this or that person, but I can't say I miss them.

It's the discrepency between your mental-constructs and reality that is causing you suffering. Friendship is a spook. Understand that and you'll be fine. You don't have to isolate yourself like me. You can keep hanging out, but do so with eyes wide open.
