>I kidnapped two of your favorite waifus
>you value them both equally and your preference between them is insensitive to mild sweetening
>I present you with two doors, both have one waifu inside you don't know which has which (door A and B). They were randomly assigned.
>You see me slide 10 bux under door B (which would be yours if you open that door)
>You can only rescue one girl (by opening their door)
Given your preferences which door would be rational to open?
>>
>>85276653
I would open door B for the extra 10 dollars
>>
>>85276653
Give Ten bux im so curious
>>
>>85276653
Why wouldn't I go after the 10 bux? Is that supposed to be a hard thing to answer?
>>
Since you are evil in this scenario and trying to tempt me into opening door B with 10 bucks it would be better to open door A so as to thwart whatever plan made you do that.
>>
>>85276698
That's the intuitive answer but the challenge is giving a reason for why you would rationally choose B over A in this situation.

Forget about the doors for a second
>you value them both equally and your preference between them is insensitive to mild sweetening
The idea is that if you had the two girls face to face and you had to choose between who to spend a lifetime with 10 bux wouldn't be enough to sway your preferences.
How do you make a rational decision in a situation where
>No preference between A and B
>Preference for A+ over A
>Preference for B+ over B
>No preference between B+ and A
>No preference between A+ and B

>>85276768
In my evil ways I randomized it. But really don't go doubting me anon.

A and B here being the girls (not the doors, sorry confusing) and + being the version where that girl has 10 bux to her name

>>85276680
Curious about your reasons too anonz
>>
>>85276947
Nope, nevermind. I would leave both doors closed and use that time to earn $10 an hour working in some brick factory, if even that. Fuck those hoes.

W the only rational MGTOW way

>>85276698
I didn't really answer a possible reason to choose either would be that a more informed version of yourself would. So if you knew which girl was behind which door the 10 bux would no longer affect your decision.

Maybe I should have framed this by asking is it irrational to choose door A and then ask people to give their reason for why it's irrational.
What do anons think about this, because I have to go to bed soon but this seems like a fun thing

I guess there are more exciting hypothetical out there too you guys can tell me if this is boring and I'll only bring something if it's super exciting
>>

>challenge
How?

>definition 1
Let f(x) = v be the function describing the subjective value v of object x.
>Premise 1
f(waifu_1) = f(waifu_2)
>Definition 2
Let f(waifu) = f(waifu_1) = f(waifu_2) for simplicity.
>Premise 2
f($10) > 0
>Conclusion
f(waifu) + f($10) > f(waifu)
>QED

You're literally asking: "would you prefer having a waifu oooor a waifu of equal value plus $10?" It's not a hard choice for anyone, anon. The rational is really not that deep.

That's because you're running a different situation. The starting position for this hypothetical is that you have a preference that is insensitive to mild sweetening.
So it's true that
>No preference between B+ and A
>No preference between A+ and B
>>
>>85277228
As per the OP,
>you value them both equally
If there's a preference between them, then you don't value them equally.

But, sure, let's run that scenario instead.
>Premise 1
f(waifu_1) - f(waifu_2) >= 0
>Premise 2
P(waifu_A = waifu_1) = P(waifu_B = waifu_1) = 0.5
>Corollary 1
f(waifu_A) = f(waifu_B)
>Premise 3
f($10) > 0
>Conclusion
f(waifu_B) + f($10) > f(waifu_A)

See how premise 1 never even mattered because of premise 2? You don't even need it to reach the conclusion. Hell, waifu_1 could be a goddess with a value of infinity and waifu_2 a fat, balding, evil monster, with a negative value of minus infinity and it still would not change a thing because of premise 2.

Good correction anon, valuing them both equally is imprecise by me. Better to say there is no preference between them.
>and your preference between them is insensitive to mild sweetening
>>
>>85277304
If it was unclear this
>you value them both equally and your preference between them is insensitive to mild sweetening
is supposed to communicate this
>No preference between A and B
>Preference for A+ over A
>Preference for B+ over B
>No preference between B+ and A
>No preference between A+ and B
>>
>>85277391
I have no clue what the blood types mean. I already addressed the scenario where you don't value them equally and have a preference for one over the other in my second post.
>>
>>85276653
I don't have waifus as I am a femanon
But you would have Sangwoo and Sylus as my husbandos

>Take the Sugar, Caspar Hare

>>85277419
Apologies I had to mull it over, yes I think that works as a solve but I'll check again tomorrow morning with a fresh head. It might be interesting for you to read through the opposing view.

>>85277463
Go for it desu
>>
>>85276653
I'm so fucking confused, what's the challenge? The two options are:
- random waifu
- random waifu + $10
Why not go for B? Is everyone in that thread OP samefagging acting like he started a conversation?
>>
>>85276653
Door A because sliding money under the door implies some secret interaction and thus disloyalty on B's part.

After thinking about it with a fresh head no it doesn't work your conclusion
>f(waifu_B) + f($10) > f(waifu_A)
is explicitly denied to be true in this situation
>No preference between B+ and A
You're just dealing with a different situation
>f(waifu_A) = f(waifu_B)
I don't even get where this is coming from

>>85278453
The challenge is that you don't prefer Waifu A over Waifu B even if one of them has an extra 10 bux. How do you make a decision in a scenario like that
>>
What I'm getting from this thread is that I did terrible explaining the actual situation. I wanted it snappy so anons wouldn't be turned off from reading it
>you value them both equally and your preference between them is insensitive to mild sweetening
but explaining what this actually means is essential for understanding the problem. Saying equally is also a bit misleading.
I apologize again anons, I will try to do better next time.
