What kino is /r9k/ currently enjoying? I'm watching the classic epic anime space opera Legend of the Galactic Heroes. I'm currently on season 2, and I'm really enjoying it. Season 1 was good but felt a little rushed for my taste, but season 2 is perfectly paced. Supposedly seasons 3 and 4 are just as good, so I'm excited to keep watching.
It's kino the whole way through, and after you've finished there's another 50 episodes of prequel material. Just be prepared for the fact that no other anime will be as good as this show

>>85276914This one is my list specifically because I had heard it's one of the most highly rated animes that explores more advanced and philosophical concepts. Was also interested in watching Monster which asks similar questions and Pluto and Psycho Pass given they seem to be becoming ever more relevant. Shame that modern anime are too afraid to venture into the more intellectual side of things. It just doesn't sell as well as Shonen slop. I'm sure it's out there if you look for it though

The original will always be superior but it does have more 80s fluff and overly dramatic scenes. Way more "if only Kircheis were here" scenes too iirc.
