3 years after finishing high school. I had trouble talking to p-people, and because of that, some people made fun of me or looked down on me. Out of those who looked down on me, three Chads, one Brad, and one trashy Becky ended up at the same mediocre private college, in programs ranked 40th to 80th in the university ranking. Meanwhile, I study at one of the top public universities in the country, in a program ranked among the top 5 for that major (and public universities have better reputation than private ones in general).I find this reversal curious: I was a pretty defeated person in school, socially speaking, but I ended up better off than them when it comes to academics. What can we conclude from this, anon? The common trait uniting these four idle, hateful figures is that their driving force was social: these four people were safely immersed in their social groups, while the superficiality and lack of sensitivity were evident in their speech, which includes basic respect. Rather than the substance of things itself, the most important thing for them was the presentation of things, including of themselves. While they were making jokes in the middle of class and/or treating me with contempt directly or behind my back, I was paying attention to the lessons. I won't deny that I'm still butthurt and emotionally resentful, but at the end of the day, the entrance exam is there to prove who has real substance. They might (and probably will) land better jobs than mine and be socially more successful than me. Heck, I might even become a NEET while they work for cool companies in the future, but the filter is there to prove one thing: substance. Screw those assholes and glory to Thales of Miletus.
>>85277556What the fuck is wrong with your filename?>but I ended up better off than them when it comes to academicsI was the nerd of my highschool too, but I'm not able to go to college because I developed paruresis. I don't know how much longer I can take my shit life
>>85277617I'm sorry for your disorder, anon. >What the fuck is wrong with your filename? The thing in parenthesis is for finding the first times I posted that image in the archives. "Kirino" is for finding the image easily when searching for it on my phone. Sorry for being a phonefag btw.
>>85277670>I'm sorry for your disorder, anonNothing I can do about it for now. One day I will fix it (I hope so)>for finding the first timesI thought that could be the case, but it would be easier if you just clicked on the "view same" option on desuarchive. What degree are you pursuing, op?
>>85277730>"view same"Oh, I didn't know that thing existed, thank you for teaching me.>degreePhilosophy. And since it isn't a difficult degree to enter it doesn't actually make me thaaat better than them. Still, I'm proud of being in the uni I'm.
>>85277826>thank you for teaching me.No problem.>PhilosophyI see. It's a nice field but aren't you going to stave to death with a philosophy degree? Or do you plan to become a teacher?Maybe you could become a teacher at your uni if you keep working on your studies even after the graduation.
>>85277851That's a big problem, earning money with that degree. I don't intend to become a teacher, I think I will go for a second degree that gives better opportunities, something that have something to do with math.
>>85278005Well, AI is advancing fast and some people say we are really close to an UBI so maybe if you luck out you can ran into a reality where work isn't really needed anymore soon, or maybe we can end up in a world destroyed by the singularity. Who knows.I will be taking my way and going to sleep now, goodbye.
>>85278045Bye, have a good night.
