As someone who went to college in 2006. The bullshit sjw liberal shit that would infect society a decade later was already there. Theres even a kids in the hall sketch from the 90s with an sjw "omg ur privilege" chick. I went to an obama "rally" thing before the election at my college to check it out and it spent the bulk of it accusing white people of being the devil and racists and if you dont vote for obama you are no different than a plantation owner etc etc. Society on the whole rejected all that bullshit and it never entered mainstream. Until the rise of social media and the trayvon trial and suddenly it exploded into the mainstream world and it only got worse year by year. Suddenly the blue haired nose rings who were ignored were giving legit platforms and by extension power.
