I'm an autist and I socialise regularly, have sexual and romantic relationships and a job. Every day is worse than the last and I constantly talk to myself when I am alone, telling myself everybody hates me and that I should isolate myself and never talk to anyone again (among other things). I know an autistic dude that is somewhat functional, but i doubt hes self aware, hes not an adult retarded baby but lets say his autism is not mild at all.
He loves to make retarded, annoying jokes and repeat them every single day, get a lot of meltdowns etc, sometimes i want to punch him but we pretend he is normal.
And theres this friend of mine that is midly autistic, you wouldnt notice if you interacted to him. Hes shy but very high iq, can talk about anything, you can notice he is autistic but i doubt anybody is annoyed by his presence, unlike the other guy i mentioned.
