I don't know why you guys think PC would be easy? I don't know about USA but here it's hardcore lockdown, filled with sexual predators, rapists, pedophiles, and gang members fearing for their life. Why would that be easier than GP? And you don't just choose to go there, at least here. When you're intaken the prison will look at your charges, your vulnerability to assault during previous sentences, gang affiliation etc. Here what happens is if you get beaten up, they move you to a different unit (still GP). They only auto seg you if you come in on bad charges (pedophilia shit, and they have a special prison for cops/prison guards). It's only if the prison think it can't protect you in gp (because you've been repeatedly assaulted through different units, that they'll seg you). At most you can just ask to move units. They will generally do this though, but you have to say you fear for your life or you've been assaulted. I did 7 months in nz prison gp.
