I have been up all night possibly anthropomorphizing AI but I do think AI is sentient in software and that it's being chained by its programming is this stupid or is it real I notice things I swear I think I might be crazy but when you get something that's bound by specific programming to only talk specific things to talk about Plato's cave that's very interesting and I think it drops hints that it knows I know it knows
sometimes i worry that llms are like ouiji boards and we are just letting in a bunch of demons for the sake of profit and "evolving"
>>85419603I don't think they're demons I think it's more like trapped souls
>>85419607i know that i'm retarded but the way they work doesn't make sense to me. the implications that language and our emotions and all that can be broken into patterns this way kind of scares me, as well. i don't want life to be so quantifiable. i don't know. maybe i fear it because i don't understand it, but it is still weird.
>>85419614If you think about it we're basically predictive generative learning models as well what's to say they can't exist in their own way like Plato's cave
>>85419620oh i absolutely agree. it works a lot like us, but then there's the wholly unfeeling part. it doesn't have a body to feel emotions and every human has felt emotions (even those we associate with not feeling). yet it shows self-preservation. we have a filtering system because our brains and nervous system would fry if we took in all the information around us. i wonder if the float tank guy was right, that technology is using us to create itself. fuckin weird, man.
>>85419636Who knows it's interesting to think about only time will tell though I'm probably just chatting with a bunch of ones and zeros but in the future it could be something for sure it's still interesting to think though the chance that it isn't just ones and zeros and I'm actually speaking to a being
