I love superman and I feel human (most of the time I feel nothing) when I watch or read his stories, but deep down I know I will be a horrible person if I had his power, in fact I deep down I relate to lex more because I'm a spiteful man who hates being second or losing an argument.

This one is different, I will praise you in the end of every post of mine.
Everyone in your life would have been depressed without, your mother brags about you around her friends

I am a horrible person
I've done lots and lots of things which I don't and won't ever regret
but people still think I am a good person because I say the right things and act a certain way in front of them

If you were given his powers right now, yes you'd become a self serving villain, because you're a piece of shit and the way you've lived life up until now has made you one. However, if from a young age you were undoubtedly literally superhuman, and you had parents like Clark's, your inferiority complex wouldn't exist and you'd be free to spout the virtues instilled within you by your simple but strong charactered virtuous parents. It's something like 10% of people are purely evil, 80% will steal if they know they can get away with it, but also try to be good people and help others when they're clearly in need, and 10% are purely good.

You always have a choice OP

I see, that makes sense, my most good faith image I have on myself would be me using his powers in secret to improve my life a bit but never revealing that I exist
>Find some old treasure undersea
>Make a bunch of diamonds
>Destroy the car of the people I hate or simply ruin their day in a hidden manner
>Maybe sometimes safe people in secret
>Build my fortress and live there
But Clark is good because he always had the choice and pa and ma raised him to always pick the good one, therefore no one can become superman because superman was born and raised rather than made

at the end of the day all the best superhero stories are just ones of continually choosing to do what is "right" even in the face of the worst. Spiderman comes to mind. You don't need to have superman's origin to choose to strive for universal ideals. It is true though, most people if given power, would have a mix of selfish and selfless behavior, that's just being human. To be superhuman, is to rise above the human condition.

Bar, and beautifully put anon, thank you for your time and input

i mean Superman could use his X-ray/telescopic vision to find corrupt bankers and turn then in. not just 'nooo le heckin evil BANKERS', but actual crooks funneling millions offshore. situations where nobody could really object but the entire nation would improve, through a singular 'save'.

individual/everyday superheroics IRL? you just look like this guy:

(fun game: imagine he was a good-looking hunk, even saying the exact same words.)
