Any other autists gotten really good at detecting when people start pretending to be nice to you, instead of being genuine, once they know you for long enough? On the one hand this has become a useful defense mechanism against normies (knowing the cue for me to distance myself), but on the other it is really demoralizing and upsetting once you start noooooticing too much. Especially when you learn how much people talk behind others' backs.

I wish I could just be retarded again.

Words matter but actions speak louder than them

Actions are straightforward they are clear with intent but words always have underlying meaning whether it be good or bad

Paying attention to behavior and mannerisms is much more important
>>
You get upset when normies mask for you?

kinda. people are venomous assholes. i got better at seeing it but then just gave up cause of how much social power other people seem to have while also proclaiming themselves victims and constantly complaining. just feels like a zero sum game.

Normies masking is a lot different from autists masking. Autists HAVE to mask to appear at least semi-competent. The norms don't have to, and so "masking" for them is much more dishonest.

this is very true. normies wield immense social power and assume other people are the same because they lack theory of mind. they mask around people they deem "threats," both of those actions are instinct to them. the third instinct is to alert the tribe, and the fourth to make a move to ostracize or bully. an autist masking is basically "oh fuck i hope this person doesnt just randomly decide to make my life more difficult." a normie masking is the first move in their great keikaku.

Okay, retard.

Truke.

It's a defense mechanism to protect one's self from abuse. For normies it is offense, not defense. That is the difference.

No one has pretended to be nice to me ever, except my current boss and last boss possibly.
But if I would get a diagnosis and then tell everyone about it, that would change the game because normies are evil and retarded like that.
Then I would really get to see what fake friendliness is.
>>
>>85427441
It's amusing that you're so retardedly arrogant that you can't recognize people making an effort to communicate with you.
>>
>>85427540
No, they only "made an effort" to communicate back when they were actually friendly at first. The switch flipped once it started becoming me initiating conversations 100% of the time, and noticing their response behavior and speech patterns, body language, and mannerisms. My point is noticing when it goes from genuine to pretend, and I can't un-notice.

>>85427465
Even without a diagnosis, they eventually pick up on subtle things and notice quirks and they become uncomfortable.

Normies don't and never will know whats never receiving any sincere smile.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I don't have many friends left.

This is my greatest fear talking to people. PTSD from normalfaggots doing this all through school
