Racists still make me feel like shit. I don't know what to do about this. You'd think stop browsing this site would be the answer, but like clockwork anywhere you go you'll run into a couple, with plausible deniability peppered with snark so no one can get rid of them. I generally try to avoid being misogynistic because it's the same thing but with a different coat of paint, although I guess sometimes I do the memeish "reee foids" kind of thing, but it does not really come from a place of hatred. The world is getting more and more racist and I'm not quite sure what is to be done about it. It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't feel the need to be so open about it and kept it to themselves, but it's almost as if being racist in public is most of the appeal for them (since, I guess there are only so many places they can do it). It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so pervasive, it feels like racist discourse is an inevitability more than anything. The only really place to avoid it is offline, but even then, there are racists pretty much everywhere and I even have some in my life that I am forced to accept.
If someone is insulting your character rather than your argument, that means they've lost. If they're just throwing out the nigger word, who cares? You don't need to engage with someone not worth your time.
>>85431466I just don't want to see that shit at all though. But it's like no matter where I go it crops up. I'm starting to think that experiencing racist opinions is just a feature of life. And it just puts me in a sour mood, I care. And they know it works like that so they go out of their way to do it
