I had some friends like two cousin that used to play Playstation 2 with me and guy that was my best friend, but when I grew up I ended up losing them.
I had many Discord friends in past too, but after some time of inactivity between us they all disappeared and they never send any message asking how the things are going, me neither.
I ended up insulating myself from social media for 5 years and I don't play any game so I'm alone, but when I finish my pc I will try make new friends to play games with me, at least I will try.

The only way I know how to make friends as an adult is to find a hobby group, especially one that meets weekly. I just check craigslist and public libraries
