Something I don't understand about "active" misandrists and misogynists:What do they actually think they're achieving by spreading hatred? Do they expect anything to change? It's like, they know the way the other side approaches them doesn't work, yet they use the exact same tactics (generalizing, strawmans, insults, emotional arguments, generally being insufferable, an absurd lack of nuance/refusing to acknowledge ambiguity). Is it just like two sides of a war chucking spears at each other, rather than an actual debate? What is the motive? Is it just lashing out at the world over bad experiences? Some sort of cognitive distortion?

Venting is more productive, as it focuses on expressing the self rather than othering another.

All information you take in goes through the filter of your brain. If you frequently think like this, then you will inevitably end up with negative confirmation bias and piss away any opportunity that passes you by. And those are, according to how you see it, I believe, a rarity. So these people cannot afford to do that.
