Ever since covid i feel like all of society has slowly been getting worse. Schools, universities and even jobs themselves are increasingly becoming more shitty. I remember my high school years before pandemic and year after we returned back to in person classes it felt like no one was taking anything seriously. Then i got to university and it was these large 300 lecture halls being lectured by a chinese guy who can barely speak english, homework assignments had typos and TAs barely cared to grade your work. Then with emergence of AI it only got worse. Libraries were filled with passionate tutors willing to work with you on assignments, office hours were filled with people who had questions and now barely any one uses these resources cause you can have chat gpt explain it to you.All around me it feels like society is getting hollowed out and no one actually cares anymore.

Kek thats how university has always been, not just during the pandemic. In community colleges, there are smaller classes where the professor has a closer relationship with you. Same with Grad School. They work with you more closely because they only have like 20 students and their only job is teaching you. Lecture halls are always given by Researching Professors. Their actual job is to research shit for the university and publish. For example, they may actually be a chemist and that is their actual job and they teach you on the side. Their second priority is to teach you, so they dont really have time for you. You are one out of a gorillion students. You are kinda expected to learn on your own and go to the TA or tutoring lab sessions.
