my birthday is not too far away. i will be leaving my early 20s and going into my mid 20s. I have accomplished nothing. had a job, left it because i was exhausted all the time. went to college for physics, nothing came of it. never had friends, and when i did have a relationship with someone that could be considered friendship, my autism ended up weirding them out. all i do is play vidya and feed corvids in the forest. and maybe play some guitar.is it too late for me? or could i possibly get my shit together and maybe even get a gf?
Wondering if anyone else is in a similar predicament to this.
youre still young enough.the things you need to do are entirely dependent upon your circumstances and problems as an individual.
>went to college for physics, nothing came of it.christ it seems like every degree is useless. my diploma is trash but every avenue i look into seems like it has a low chance of success. even the fucking engineers are saying they might not get a job.in the same predicament but i don't think it's too late until we're in our late 30's-early 40's. i feel like i'm restarting my life again for the 4th time. i just hope i somehow get a real job and a gf soon, though i doubt i will. i keep rotting.
>>85434606You need to start self improvementmaxxing NOW before it's too late. You don't want to reach 40 being in the same state.
>>85434606>is it too late for me?it is if you decide it is. Coming from a 36 yo unc, you should realize that mid-20s are still youth. Your youth is not yet over, the grace period given to you by society is not yet over, and you can still date 18-24 yo girls without turning heads. You should make a plan for the future and execute the plan. I can't give you good career advice, but it's not too late to get additional education or get into something else entirely. I know people who totally changed the directions of their careers in their 30s, got training from scratch, and have done very well for themselves. Don't label yourself as "too old" until your back is actually hurting and your teeth are gone.
>>85434645>>85434632>>85434659>>85434732>>85434747worst thing about me though is that i never seem to actually improve.college? didnt improve my ability to learn.tried a new vidya? didnt learn well enough and couldnt get good.trying to do something different at all? fail to adapt.it feels like some fundamental problem that seriously affects my ability to escape this... rut im in.
>>85434789>college? didnt improve my ability to learn.college isn't a videogame bonus zone that you enter to get a powerup. it's a place where you work your ass off to get some kind of certification and hopefully network, find opportunities and lay the groundwork for future employment through internships, projects, simply meeting people etc. They don't really tell you how important it is to do the extracurricular stuff and get to know people, and use college as an instrument to further yourself. You were never "guaranteed" to make it by simply attending and passing.>tried a new vidya? didnt learn well enough and couldnt get good.literally who gives a shit nigga, being good at videogames comes from treating them like a profession and practicing and doing exercises to sharpen your timing and decisionmaking, that takes a lot of fun out of it. You can't treat being bad at vidya as a reason to feel bad, it's just ludicrous.>trying to do something different at all? fail to adapt.failure doesn't always lead to more failure, sometimes it teaches you and leads to future success.>it feels like some fundamental problemit's your worldview. you frame things as unsolvable problems. you need to reframe how you see the world, accept what's fucked and can't be changed, and work to change what you can actually change. The universe won't give you a medal for compiling a list of all the things you tried at failed at. Everyone fails at a bunch of shit anyway, read a biography of some great artist or politician or something, they all ate shit for most of their lives usually.
>>85434808what i meant to say i guess is that i seem to have this fundamental inability to actually learn anything from my failures/successes and to carry on forward with it. its kind of like some insanity. i try to pick through my own mind but theres too much noise and i dont even understand how my own psyche works.
>>85434827On one hand I think you're right to be self-critical, because that can be the first step to improvement, but I think there's a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy element to it.If you tell yourself>I can't, I can't, I definitely can't, I fundamentally can'tyou kind of hypnotize yourself into believing it.Imagine you were on a reality show and some guy was going to get 10 billion dollars if he makes you become a professional guitar saxophone player. Do you honestly think he wouldn't figure out a way with an incentive that big? I think you'd be on that sax in a year or two, no matter how much you believe you couldn't do it. You might not be assessing yourself right is what I'm saying.
>>85434844>guitar*NOT guitar, I typed it by accident but the point is that it's an instrument you can't already play
>>85434844somewhere deep down i know that it really comes down to the fact that change is difficult. theres the desire to be something else yet the resistance to actual change is there too. i have this idea of what i want to be, but i also dont really wanna let go of what makes me *me*. like wanting to be more like a normal person but at the same time wanting to still be the autistic adhdtard i am.
