I just don't understand today's gaming industryHow the fuck does a game from fucking 2015 need a remaster?
because the corpos dont want to do anything original anymore, they just want to milk the consumers who will buy anything
>>85434621Ok, but then why do gamers lap it up? and don't say they don't, every time i visit the Steam discussion page for a game older than 10 years it's brewing with gremlins screaming for a remaster
>>85434630Most people revel in nostalgia. I've never understood it. I've tried to make myself feel nostalgic. Everytime I come to the conclusion that the thing I liked is much worse than I remember.
>>85434635How does nostalgia relate to remasters? if i'm feeling nostalgic about an old game the last thing i want is for a soulless corpo to replace it with a slopified version of it and possibly make the original unavailable
>>85434615it's free you ungrateful nigger. go complain about the ones making you pay for remastered slop
>>85434630gamers lap literally everything up. they don't have standards, they just hoard shitty overpriced games for the hype. it's annoying as hell. they all complain about this shit then give corpos a billion dollars for slop.
>>85434667playing the old game is more authentic and cheap, yet i keep seeing brainless bastards unironically go "i NEED to spend over $100 on a remake of a game i already own and play!" it's pure retardium
>>85434677My issue with remaster slop is not the price though, it's mainly the attempt to rewrite historyThe fact that it's treated as a free update so that everyone who already owns the game gets it automatically makes me wonder, is it meant to completely replace the original version? is the original going to be delisted? why is everyone else seemingly ok with that?
Game on sale goes for $5-$7 you get past 2 dlcs for free with it, they get to test bunch of new tech with remaster, also early next year they release 3rd dlc that is believed to close geralt saga and introduce to you ciri saga with witcher 4. You get game for piss cheap with 2 great expansions, if you like it you can buy new one when it drops, and get witcher 4 - that's how they make money, plus giving something for free and "caring" about playerbase is good PR. As shrimple as that.
>>85434701the original version of the Witcher was purposefully nerfed so that people could play it on console. the remaster is both so that pc players get their shiny slop and as free hype/community good will for witcher 4 which is coming out in a couple years. this is no different than when rockstar released a remastered version of gta v for free that's the exact same as gta v but shinier
>>85434701You can choose what version you want to play, you can play very first release version if you want.
>>85434615Get you to upgrade your gaming rig.
all remasters should be free
>>85434667Buying the game and the "new" "release" is part of it for them.
The gaming industry is ran by suits who don't even play the games they produce. It's always been like that. Sure. But usually there's a guy in charge who actually listens to the community + plays the games FOR the suits. Not anymore it seems. >>85434621This too
>>85434615game studios done run out of ideaswhat are they going to do? they replaces all the talent with trannies and women and all their new IPs fail catastrophically
>>85434721So like, the "remaster" is not a separate game, but a free update that you can switch on and off if you want?If so, i'll concede that's probably the best solution, since it also addresses my problem #2 i have with remasters, which is how they break up modding communitiesI still maintain that it's insane that a game from 2015 needs a graphics update though
