I am diagnosed autistic and some other autist told me to get a job and get back to therapy My issue is that last time I tried taking responsibility I just couldn't. I couldn't even wake up from the alarms I have set to get there, I would get too overestimated And therapy didn't help since they just gave me ssris which in my experience didn't help, and from light googling it says they don't.That person believes all autists can work which I am not sure I believe. Is there even a medication the therapist can provide me that will fix me
>>85437175drugs won't help but you can make yourself get up at a certain time and stick to it. I'm autistic and up before the sun year round
>>85437175You need to push throughThere's probably a limit to what disordered people can keep up with but you're baseline adjusts to your normal so if you spent a lot of time doing nothing it would be really hard to build up tolerance to a normal levelThink of it like building muscle and exercising
>>85437182I can't? I never could. And I hear sleeping pills are bad to start taking I mean even if I try to be positive and listen to you. What if I try and failed and get humiliated because I miss work?
>>85437190How do you know that. Are you autistic
You seem not just autistic but low iq. I intuited this from your manner of typing and thought patterns expressed in this glimpse of your mind, in other words, it's over. If you want employment you gotta want it, even if it's for external reasons like moving out of your parents' home or saving up for something benign. I believe you are essentially inanimate, too midwitted to have a real drive for life, but your autism on top of that prevents you from just coasting through life like a normie.
>>85437190>you're baselineyour baseline I meanAnd getting up early has more to do with how much sleep you've gotten
>>85437175i can follow the routine of having a normal job my problem is that i cannot fit into a place of work that is meaningful for me and have only ever been given exploitative labor with irritating coworkers pushing me to quit eventually society give a fuck if you are actually on the spectrum normies just like to use it for feel good points and social validation best advice i can give is to find a hobby, invest in it, and save whatever money you manage to earn
>>85437203You didn't sanswer my question >>85437207My issue is that I am not a routine autist I don't have that symptom
>>85437212set multiple alarms with the first starting really earlystart with small tasks around the house you can do daily even if it's making a cup of coffeeexpand you horizons outside from that good luck
>>85437236Have you accomplished that and are you autistic? That is what I tried last time and still didn't wake up but I will try it. My question is what if what I feel will happen happens and I miss work what then?
>>85437263You try again. Everyone falls down, getting up is the important thing
>>85437270Won't I get blacklisted from employers?
>>85437263anonthe single most defining trait of autism is preferring a static schedule if you cannot manage to adjust to that then you might have other issues beyond being on the spectrum again, good luck
>>85437276There is no such thing, worst case scenario you cant use them as a reference
>>85437198No but if it's about incapacitating autistic symptoms, I experience something similar for different reasons I can't really say much because it's not like I have it made myself, but trying more brought some improvement. For now
>>85437280Idk I only have that diagnosis and I never had that symptom what else would it be>>85437288Well I hope so I mean idk I live in a small townn
>>85437294talk you whoever diagnosed youread the document that should have been prepared upon diagnosis
>>85437291I mean do you have a diagnosis >>85437296I don't think they can rediagnose me specifically. I would have to go to a new one. What extra diagnosis would even help me /sound I have
>>85437175Depending on what country you live in, I'd just try to get on disability and coast. You'll never be rich but you'll never have to work. You could always go volunteer or get deep into a hobby if you get bored or feel like you lack purpose. My friend's sister has pretty debilitating autism and was able to get on disability. She lives with her parents but could afford an apartment or go live in a group home if she needed to.
>>854374721. Technically from what I understand it isn't enough for rent and there is no social housing in my country (South europ) 2. My questing is that then why is that other autist saying all autists can work then ?
>>85437504He's retarded and doesn't know what he's talking about. Autism isn't a specific condition but more of a catch all for people that show symptoms of a learning or personality disorder but don't explicitly have something else. That's why it's a "spectrum" and it's so easy to fake. Autism for one person could be social anxiety and autism for someone else could be crippling OCD and an inability to talk at all.
>>85437175>That person believes all autists can workI don't think that's true. Maybe there is a situation where a low functioning autist has a guardian to force them to get up every morning and go to work. Their work would have to be some rote labor job alone in some sensory friendly location. Their boss would have to basically act as a social worker both breathing down their neck enough to make sure they keep working but not being so overbearing that they have a melty. This kind of living situation isn't available to most autists. They would have to take innitiative, be consistent, and get over their sensory and emotional difficulties by themselves. If you're a low or mid functioning autist this is probably too much to ask of you.
Autismos area genetic and societal dead end to be honest. The universe, nature, god, society, whatever WANT YOU TO DIE. You are not fit for this existence if you can only eat certain foods or perform certain tasks cause "muh stimuli"
>last time I tried taking responsibility I just couldn'tCould've guessed that from your bullshit autism larp
>>85437175>I couldn't even wake up from the alarms I have set to get there, I would get too overestimatedThe key part for me was basically just getting into a routine.Once I got to work same time every day and everything was "automatic" it was fine. This is despite struggling throughout my life.t. diagnosed autist with good engineering job
>>85437647As an autist who has worked with turbo autists there's no excuse. My first job was through an agency (at a small grocery store) and there was a turbo autist coworker that couldn't make eyecontact or hold a conversation and he was able to stock shelves and help in the warehouse. I tried being his friend but he didn't want any of it he was there to do his job and only his job kek
>>85437175I'm diagnosed autistic and the best thing that helped me was hiking the Appalachian Trail. My sense of taste changed(foods smell and taste different.) My sensitivity to heat and cold changed(I became confortable in most temperatures.) Loud noises don't sound as loud. Textures aren't as unbearable. My stress plummeted, and I attained a much calmer temperment than before. Executive functioning tasks became easier. It's been over a year and the effects have not reversed. It basically made me twice as functional as before. My autism was not fixed by this, but the sensory part pretty much was.How this might have happened is that my vagal tone improved(which is responsible for relaxing and digestion) due to exercise, breathing, exposure to the elements, and being in nature. My neuroplasticity was also probably much greater during the hike, because exercise, novel experiences, being in nature, and fresh air does that. Problems like food and water were easy to understand and nobody forced me to do anything, so I had to take initiative and figure out how to get to town for food. There are countless other little things that might have happened, but generally it just worked. Thru hiking up and down mountains for 6 months will probably help if you can manage just getting to the trail and being stuck out there.Best to do this with like 5k or 6k dollars. It's much cheaper than most other treatments for autistic problems(besides like cold showers or bathing in ice water. Don't worry about the gear so much. The lighter you pack, the better. If you're without something, you can buy it in the many towns on the trail. The important thing is just starting. Bears are less of a problem than mice. FarOut is the best for a map. A sawyer mini is the best for water filtering. Pack two pounds of food per day. Fill the inside of your pack(or backpack) with a contractor bag to keep what needs to be dry dry. If you're starting south, don't worry about shoes.
