Just hung out with a friend of my dad that I met on the way home, man that was awkward. Also out basically all day and now I got back home and it's past bed time. And I still feel the weight of how many people I disappointed yesterday. I feel bad.

What do you mean you disappointed people anon? Kudos for hanging out despite awkwardness

I hate leaving people hanging, I want to be liked and loved. I'm imagining all the smiles drain of the people when they realize I abandoned them. I feel so guilty but I'm too afraid to do otherwise and I know I will introduce endless anxiety into my life alongside that.

Thank you but I was just kinda too startled maybe if I had a good excuse up my hat in the moment I would have employed it. What did this hang out accomplish? I was incredibly inhibited if anything he thinks I'm a lamo loser now. I still appreciate your kind words I felt uplifted reading them.

don't think about the awkwardness too much, id say its normal. go get some rest and be happy that you've done something somewhat productive today

Yeah I drank a little bit so I can't feel too bad about it, and I'm happy I made this vent thread and got such considerate replies. I'm naturally awkward to begin with and he's my friggin dads friend he's gonna tell my dad anything weird I say so I felt pretty inhibited on top of that. No catastrophic mess ups though, since nothing was too out of my expectations apart from the unexpected meetings I'm don't feel too bad about my performance even if better sons would have done it better. What can ya do. Anywho thank you a lot I think I'm gonna go to bed now I just felt like getting it off my chest.
Apologies for the rambling

You can only do your best man and socialising is a skill that is developed. Whats done is done, however at least you have a new experience and can better navigate future ones
