I'm trying to participate in a mental health group at my uni but most of the problems people have there are about appearance. Stereotypical short/fat white guys and ethnic girls (Black or Indian, sometimes ugly asian) are complaining about the same things.

As a society, we should separate being depressed from having low self esteem. If all your problems would suddenly disappear if you were a few more centimeters taller or your skin were less dark, then you are not depressed, be fr

be depressed long enough, and you will become uglier. Over eating, drinking, drugs, lack of sleep, no sun, no exercise, no smiles will all make you uglier and give you low self esteem. It spirals.
You might just be an attention whore larping at these groups if you don't realize that.

Why is the foid talking and not making me multiple sandwiches
>>
your depression is not any more valid than other people's depression
what's worse is that you have depression + an ego about your depression. you are worse than the 5 foot indian

I understand this as someone with an addiction. But thats not the problem with those guys, since they already grew up short or ethnic. They should be in a low self esteem mental health group, not in the same place as people who were abused, lost their families, became addicted to fentanyl or witnessed their brother die by suicide.

>you are worse than the 5 foot indian
thats exactly the point here

I'm a dude who had BPD and undiagnosed my entire life. I have been suicidally depressed weekly for decades. I was attractive the whole time but my vibe was so bad and I did drugs and didn't sleep. Wasted a lot of my life with this.

Very good point. There are a lot of people who would be very hot but they've got a mental illness making them fat insomniac drug users

Its not about being ugly while having mental health issues. Its about the fact that hating being judged by your appearance by society doesnt automatically make you depressed. It could be other things but if your first and main complaint is that you are depressed because you are 5'7 or Black, fuck off.

Women are depressed because they are not supposed to have rights. It's unnatural.

That could be considered an expression of mental illness though. I hated how I looked my entire life and was with some objectively beautiful women who felt the same about themselves. Mental illness makes you hate yourself.

What is your depression about?

>What is your depression about?
Not only about my appearance

>Not only about my appearance

What about though? Money, status, etc are just as supportive as caring about looks. I think most people are depressed for superficial reasons. Unless you're taking with loss of a loved one or existential philosophical problems it's material concerns
