Thought I would post this here because I assume most robots have experience with antidepressants.
After 6 years of constantly feeling hopeless I have decided to get help out of desperation. Im really hoping that I can enjoy playing a video game or watching a tv show again.
What was your experience with bupropion?
>>

very subtle effects helps against suffering high depressive episodes. Its not a happy pill and I still felt that I was miserable just a little numbed out, so I stopped taking it.
>>
I take the extended release which has the same sort of effect as the regular thing, it just lasts evenly throughout the day which prevents suddenly wanting to die at 3pm.
It's been the only non-bullshit antidepressant I've been prescribed. It erases my hopelessness and pessimism, and lessens the severity of my anxiety. These effects are extremely useful if you you're trying to be productive underneath the burden of demoralizing life circumstances. It doesn't magically make me feel happy or content, but that's probably a good thing. I think those are necessary reactions which force you to actually fix your problems.
I still don't get any enjoyment out of anything, but that has more to do with my shitty life. I'm working towards a life that'll make me happy with the medication's assistance. Money is everything, it's an unfortunate reality of the world. I take this stuff because I can't afford to have work interrupted by suicidal ideation spiraling out of control.
The only side effect I've experienced is my dick working differently. I get hard easily but cum less. It's whatever.
>>
Ask my doctor for it because I thought it would be a bit like Adderal/Ritalin but its nothing alike, more like just drinking a coffee.
>>
>>85452073
i'm gonna use it to commit seppuku
>>
>>85452273
Adderal/Ritalin gives you energy, focus and confidence.
>>
>>85452419
I crash super hard after a few hours on Ritalin and become anxious and melancholic. Should I try the extended release or switch to Vyvanse
>>
>>85452419
I haven't managed to get Adderall yet, but Ritalin and Vyvanse both did nothing even at high dosages. They clearly work for other people, but may as well have been placebo for me. Luckily, nicotine helps me focus.
>>
>>85452073
best antidepressant i've taken by far. i feel so energized and confident, im also taking it with prozac and now i just feel unstoppable. this combo gives me a lot of self assurance and now i dont feel anxious or depressed at all anymore, ideally id want to add adderall but i cant get it prescribed since im a neet so my psychiatrist deems it unnecessary.
>>
>>85452434
You should try every option you have available to you. They all affect different people in different ways. Anecdotal guidance isn't exact.
>>
>>85452073
>I think modern video games and tv shows are soulless slop there must be something wrong with me!
lol. lmao.
>>
>>85452073
Seems to work decently. It is not an ssri
>>
It doesnt work for me. This is common with drugs. Some work, others doesn't.
>>
>>85452491
Most games and shows being shit is definately part of the problem, but I also think that any rational brain isn't going to let a grown man enjoy mindlessly vegging out when there are pressing matters that need to be taken care of.
>>
>>85452073
i take it recreationally to goon, but if i start taking it days or weeks on end my hair thins and i stop eating and go insane with hatred. zoloft helps me a little but im probably going to try for a tricyclic or an maoi.
>>
I took it, but quit.
Not entirely sure why. I think I just felt it wasnt doing enough.
But my mom also said she didnt like that I was on it.
Maybe these are retarded reasons and I should get back on.

Big if true

Pepperoni pepperoni pepperoni

>>85452273
Thats kind of what I need. Something to just slightly lift me out of the hole Im in.
>>85452872
It doesnt seem like it would be good for that.
>>
Have any of you experienced memory loss from taking Wellbutrin? I saw people on Reddit mentioning having to quit the drug because of memory loss.
>>
>>85452073
I went on it earlier this year for help with ADHD and as an antidepressant and after about 1-2 weeks of being on it, I became noticeably more lethargic and I could only attribute it to the medication. It also took all the joy out of vaping since it blocks nicotine receptors.

I am now back on atomoxetine which I was last on in 2023, it has helped me significantly with my attention and my mood. I think a lot of americans don't know about it because most psychiatrists over there would rather prescribe stimulants. But I also had significant benefit from ritalin back when I was taking that, it actually felt like a street drug too because it gave me euphoria but I got horrible chest pain if I had two tablets. I was best on about 10mg daily.
>>
>>85454061
Also an interesting fact about atomoxetine is that part of it metabolises into 4-hydroxyatomoxetine in the liver, which is a partial kappa-opioid agonist. Apparently it also antagonises the mu-opioid receptors. But I haven't recalled kratom (a mu-opioid agonist) being any less effective while on it.
>>
>>85452073
It allowed me to focus for long enough to get redpilled on the JQ by reading National Vanguard articles on repeat.
>>
Idk I take 50mg Vyvanse for ADHD
But I'm AuDHD so I feel autistic af when on meds
>>
>>85452073
It made me angry and violent. I remember being in line for the pharmacy and almost getting kicked out because I threatened an old man that was taking too long, and I got in some guy's face who cut me in line and told him I would kill him.
I was on the phone with my dad one time telling him about how I was gonna murder my manager. I don't know if I was joking and my dad was terrified. I had to get off it after a week or two.
I'm on trintellix now which isn't bad unless I drink a lot, which I don't really do anyway.
>>
>>85454187
Yeah I dont think so. Cool story though.
>>
>>85452073
i felt less like shit, got super horny, and ate a little less
that's about it
>>
>>85455268
Sounds good to me fr fr
>>
I'm on 70 mg Vyvanse, been on it for over 12 years now so I don't think about it much, I've been wanting to try an Adderall IR adjunct because my tolerance is so high but that's just a whole to-do, I don't have the energy to pitch that kind of thing to my stubborn Indian doctor, just happy I have what I do, life isn't perfect, it's a depressing conclusion but coffee helps offset the void somewhat
>>
>>85452455
>can't get it prescribed since I'm a NEET
Can't you just lie and say you have some part-time wfh gig that warrants the prescription? That's easy enough to fake
>>
>>85452073
Try modafinil with wellbutrin
Really you just need dopamine, ssris that work solely on serotonin are a jewish lie
>>
>>85452455
>cant get it prescribed since im a neet so my psychiatrist deems it unnecessary
>basically anon, you don't seem to have your shit together so i think you don't actually need something that might help you get your shit together
>>
>>85457293
They hate prescribing you stuff that actually does anything besides giving you a bunch of shitty side effects these days because "addiction" or "drug seeking"
They hand out ssri and neuroleptics like candy because former have little positive effects compared to drugs rhat actually do something and a lot of side effects like weight gain, dick not working, gynocomastia etc. Neuroleptics just make you easier to handle for others by turning you into a zombie to the detriment of the one taking it.
>>
>>85452073
I was prescribed Wellbutrin in 2020, when I went to a doctor for the first time in years because my hair had begun thinning. I was under the impression it would have been easy to get a finasteride script but the only available doctor I could find was a woman, who did not sympathize with me and told me there was nothing to be done about my hair. Don't know who she thought would buy that bullshit, I ended up getting my hair loss treatment online instead.
Meanwhile I failed the depression screening (who wouldn't in 2020 lmao) and was given this shit.
I never took it because I read one of the side effects was possible hair loss, and you also can't drink alcohol while taking it as far as I could tell, and I had lied completely about my alcohol intake.
>>
its fucking garbage and does nothing
>>
>>85456184
i wish i could take amphetamines you are so lucky
>>
>>85457479
that's kinda funny, and kinda sad.
you see, i had it figured for a while that my main brain deficiency was dopamine related
so i asked Chat to give me a list. i narrowed it down to NDRIs which it claimed to have "high abuse potential" (because at its core that's what dopamine is and because i never showed any signs of impulsive cravings) then ordered some on darkweb and it landed on my desk literally the next day. it also happened to be... just what the doctor ordered, if you catch my drift.
anon said in burgerland you need a lawyer to get this shit, it's fucked up.
>>
i have taken wellbutrin before it didnt do shit for me
now i am taking paxil and olanzapine
this shit also does nothing
doctors are retarded assholes that wont give me what i really need and thats something like adderall . they wont give me it because people use it to get high.
>>
>>85457720
Thank you for that story.
>>
>>85457855
Most ndri arent controlled substances in the US. You can literally go on Redboxrx and get a script in 20 minutes. They will deliver it to your door.
>>
>>85452073
ive been on it for ~2 weeks and don't really feel anything so far other than a decreased appetite
>>
As someone who's VERY critical of psych meds in general, this one actually isn't that bad. It acts on dopamine and norepinephrine but not on serotonin like most other antidepressants. It also doesn't kill your sex drive and won't make you gain weight like other antidepressants, instead it's like a very mild stimulant (though not anywhere near the level of Adderall or Ritalin) but the one main drawback that you need to watch out for is the seizure risk, which personally I've never experienced, but once you get to the maximum dose (450mg) it's a 0.4% chance, compared to 0.1% at 300mg and below, so if you have any kind of seizure risk already you shouldn't take this stuff.
>>
>>85456557
>Can't you just lie and say you have some part-time wfh gig that warrants the prescription? That's easy enough to fake
ive thought about it but ive wondered if theyll make me prove it in some way other than word of mouth
>>
>>85459008
How does it make you feel? I already take Adderall so Im afraid I wont even feel Wellbutrin.
I am genuinely depressed as fuck and want this feeling to go away.
