how should I feel about my situation and what can I do?>2019>work in a city>sister buys a small average-price house in my hometown>she moves next state over to live with her rich husband>ask boss to wfh>move back to rent sister's house>ask sister how much I need to pay>doesn't tell me how much mortgage is but asks me to pay X>says she will be renegotiating mortgage to pay even less>says a condition of my living there is she, her husband and their young kid get to visit occasionally>move in>she tells me that she now expects to visit every second weekend>a weekend becomes Thursday to Sunday>mom is retired and lives with her partner>sister visits and occasionally has meltdowns over minor shit (e.g., spilled some juice in the refrigerator)>says my mom needs to come clean for me>refuse and she calms down>next year leave my job for various reasons>dumb thing to do financially but whatever>use savings to cover rent>eventually find another lower paying job>mom has an argument with her partner and has another huge breakdown>sister calls to tell me that mom is moving in>drive to mom's house>she's on her knees trying to pull a DVD player from the wall>she has enough money to buy her own place in cash and says she's looking for somewhere>instead redecorates the place, spends 20k+ modifying it>obvious over time she has no intention to leave>meanwhile house price has doubled in ~5 years>sister she tells me I couldn't afford to live in a house worth [high post-covid price] anyway>mention to mom her moving in has made it more difficult for me to e.g., meet someone (she didn't ask if I'd met anyone when moving in)>she says my dad bought a house at my age in the 70s, why do people my age have phones, maybe I should have met someone when I was younger etc>still paying 1/3 of my wage on rent and bills>rent prices too high to move out unless I share with strangers
