I usually just ask nicely for a few more seconds and try to be grateful

Often, in another life I should have been a priest, shame god is dead and all that

More than I'm currently doing. I'm a total failure in that department

Claude is a stupid name. what a freaking nerd, I hope that one isn't the one that kills us all.

OK, well that was shitty, and now I'm too tired to carry on. Maybe tomorrow, maybe tomorrow. Maybe tomorrow will be better. I was looking forward to having a "weekend" but it's basically over already. The feeling of needing to grab onto something and squeeze it is growing, I aught to have a cuddly toy since I've found squeezing onto a folded up towel pretty comforting lately. But I'd need to find one not made of polyester etc for piece of mind and that's not as easy as you'd think!

Unfortunately it's still just me. Pure addiction, force of habit, wanting to keep hold of my outpost where I can be contacted/have an eye kept on me without having to establish/re-establish more dangerous ties. They'll lock the doors if they don't want you there. Unlocked doors are an invitation. Many churches will have evening, which in certain seasons is after dark, or even straight up midnight candle light servises, especially if it's Easter/Christmas, but maybe for stuff like St. Peter's Day too.

The mere existence of the expectation means someone will be let down. Not because expectation exist in and of themselves. But because there's a conflict of expectations.

>>85564100
>Probably found some new provider, maybe this time one who isn't a worthless pussy
Well that's what I was hoping for. I went in initially on the premise that she'd be self sufficient, but that didn't last long. One of the straws that broke this camel's back was after two years of waging on her behalf I made a comment about if she had a million dollars I'd like to spend my time lounging around the house playing video games. She said she'd had enough of men being lazy losers who just want a mommy and that I was a bad feminist and she doesn't stand for that kind of thing. I mean a disagreement is one thing but she didn't need to go ham like that, and so reflexively too.

Supporting someone with her needs from the other side of the world is you know, an uphill struggle. Hopefully she can find someone a little closer, with enough stability and infrastructure to basically adopt her. I'm barely able to look after myself and even that's arguable.

Probably gonna regret touching on this topic but I'm kinda drunk so please forgive me lila. I still think you're cool.

[93] Both theories reject the principle of imagination since
they reduce fantasies to something else and treat them merely as a
semiotic expression. In reality fantasies mean much more than that,
for they represent at the same time the other mechanism-of
repressed extraversion in the introvert, and of repressed
introversion in the extravert. But the repressed function is
unconscious, and hence undeveloped, embryonic, and archaic.
In this condition it cannot be united with the higher level of
the conscious function. The unacceptable nature of fantasy
derives chiefly from this peculiarity of the unrecognized,
unconscious function. For everyone whose guiding principle
is adaptation to external reality, imagination is for these
reasons something reprehensible and useless. And yet we
know that every good idea and all creative work are the
offspring of the imagination, and have their source in what
one is pleased to call infantile fantasy. Not the artist alone,
but every creative individual whatsoever owes all that is
greatest in his life to fantasy. The dynamic principle of
fantasy is play, a characteristic also of the child, and as such it
appears inconsistent with the principle of serious work. But
without this playing with fantasy no creative work has ever
yet come to birth. The debt we owe to the play of imagination
is incalculable. It is therefore short-sighted to treat fantasy, on
account of its risky or unacceptable nature, as a thing of little
worth. It must not be forgotten that it is just in the
imagination that a man's highest value may lie. I say "may"
advisedly, because on the other hand fantasies are also
valueless, since in the form of raw material they possess no
realizable worth. In order to unearth the treasures they contain
they must be developed a stage further. But this development
is not achieved by a simple analysis of the fantasy material; a
synthesis is also needed by means of a constructive method.

Eheheh, semiotic sounds like semen
>>
But yeah the problem with Freud and Adler is that they reduce fantasies to merely (that's rich for jung) symbols. When they're more than that, much more. Because they're like the opposite way of life each type has? Fantasy is unacceptable because it's from the parts of ourselves we don't like? Makes me worry about what Jung was fantasizing about because I fully endorse a good portion of my fantasies.

But yeah also everything good comes from fantasy? Not just artists, but everyone?

Playtime playtime, we all love playtime! But also words are wind, fantasies are trash because they aren't real? Thanks Jung!
>>
>>85565850
Technically speaking, they reduce them to signs, not symbols.
>>
[94] It remains an open question whether the opposition
between the two standpoints can ever be satisfactorily
resolved in intellectual terms. Although in one sense
Abelard's attempt
must be rated very highly, in practice no consequences worth
mentioning have resulted from it, for he was unable to
establish any mediatory psychological principle beyond
conceptualism or "sermonism," which is merely a revised
edition, altogether one-sided and intellectual, of the ancient
Logos conception. The Logos, as mediator, had of course this
advantage over the sermo, that in its human manifestation it
also did justice to man's non-intellectual aspirations.

Heh! Lol! F*ck you Abe-LARD, who poured cold water on Jung's head? Yes, down with bullshit! Down with bullshit! Down with bullshit! Jung Gahg Jung Gang!

>>85565861
What's the difference?
>>
[95] I cannot, however, rid myself of the impression that
Abelard's brilliant mind, which so fully comprehended the
great Yea and Nay of life, would never have remained
satisfied with his paradoxical conceptualism, and would not
have renounced a further creative effort, if the impelling force
of passion had not been lost to him through his tragic fate. In
confirmation of this we need only compare conceptualism
with what the great Chinese philosophers Lao-tzu and
Chuang-tzu, or the poet Schiller, made of this same problem

>Oh no, oh noooooo! Oh what could have been, if he still had his peeeeeeeen!
That middle aged boy still had so much to give, if only he'd kept his hands off that teeeen!

>Woooah, chinese ninja philosophers, with your cocks still on. Mogging Abelarrrd.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIbHmItRsSw
And there we have it. That's the end of Abelards attempt at conciliation. Coming up is like two pages of the Holy Communion controversy between Luther and Zwingli and then we've finally finished book I of psychological types.
>>
5. THE HOLY COMMUNION CONTROVERSY
BETWEEN LUTHER AND ZWINGLI
[96] Of the later dissensions that stirred men's minds,
Protestantism and the Reformation movement should really
receive our first attention. Only, this phenomenon is of such
complexity that it would first have to be resolved into many
separate psychological processes before it could become an
object of analytical investigation. But this lies outside my
competence. I must therefore content myself with selecting a
specific instance of that great dispute, namely the Holy
Communion controversy between Luther and Zwingli. The
dogma of transubstantiation, mentioned earlier, was
sanctioned by the Lateran Council of 1215, and
thenceforward became an established article of faith, in which
tradition Luther grew up.

Protestantism too powerful, simply too powerful for Jung's puny C*tholic brain.
>>
>>85565863
A sign points to something real. It's a reference to a thing, an object, a concept, etc.
Think of a literal sign, on a roadway on the sign there's a picture of a tree and an arrow that points up the road followed by the words "tree ahead".
That's a sign.

A symbol is however inexhaustible. If you think of the tree that sign is pointing to, there are ideas that go beyond that specific tree, or even trees in general. Like growth.
A tree that represents more than a tree is a symbol.
>>
cont.
Although the notion that a
ceremony and its concrete performance have an objective
redemptory significance is really quite unevangelical, since
the evangelical movement was actually directed against the
values of Catholic institutions, Luther was nevertheless
unable to free himself from the immediately effective
sensuous impression in the taking of bread and wine. He was
unable to perceive in it a mere sign; the sensuous reality and
the immediate experience of it were for him an indispensable
religious necessity. He therefore claimed the actual presence
of the body and blood of Christ in the Communion. "In and
beneath" the bread and wine he received the body and blood
of Christ. For him the religious significance of the immediate
experience of the object was so great that his imagination was
spellbound by the concretism of the material presence of the
sacred body. All his attempts at explanation are under the
spell of this fact: the body of Christ is present, albeit
"non-spatially." According to the doctrine of so-called
consubstantiation, the actual substance of the sacred body was
also really present beside the bread and wine. The ubiquity of
Christ's body, which this assumption postulated, proved
especially discomforting to human intelligence and was later
replaced by the concept of volipresence, which means that
God is present wherever he wills to be. But Luther,
unperturbed by all these difficulties, held unswervingly to the
immediate experience of the sensuous impression and
preferred to thrust aside all the scruples of human reason with
explanations that were either absurd or at best unsatisfying.

>But it FEEELs like body and blood!
Is that what Jung is trying to say Luther was doing here?
>>
>>85565971
Ah, so it's kind of like when JRR Tolkien said he didn't like 1:1 allegories, like the orcs are germans, that would be a sign, as opposed to saying the concept of orcs is part of an interweaving web of associations that has relations to the gemans, and parts of ourselves. Or something like that?
>>
>>85566003
Saying the orcs are Germans is a sign, yes.

But, the orcs being a representation of a body of behaviors makes them a symbol. The orcs could represent violence and be a symbol. But the moment the representation stops at violence, they're a sign again.
There's more to the orcs than violence, or any given trait that they represent.

Something important about symbols, they resist reduction. Symbols are psychologically alive, and to reduce them is to kill them and drain them of their lifeforce. Which is not always a bad thing. Sometimes that's how you turn fantasy into reality.

>>85566058
So yeah to loop it back around, one problem Jung had with Freud and Adler is treating symbols in dreams as a one-to-one allegory of sign for something happening in real life. For example puffing on a pipe meaning you want to return to your mother's bosom. Whereas Jung felt like you shouldn't be reductive like that and have it be more figuratively you want to return to your mothers bosom for all the associations that has, rather than literally lick her nips? Although that can also be involved of course?

[97] It can hardly be supposed that it was merely the force
of tradition that made Luther determined to cling to this
dogma, for he of all people gave abundant proof of his ability
to throw aside traditional forms of belief. Indeed, we should
not go far wrong in assuming that it was rather the actual
contact with the "real" and material in the Communion, and
the feeling-value of this contact for Luther himself, that
prevailed over the evangelical principle, which maintained
that the word was the sole vehicle of grace and not the
ceremony. For Luther the word certainly had redeeming
power, but the partaking of the Communion was also a
mediator of grace. This, I repeat, must have been only an
apparent concession to the institutions of the Catholic Church;
in reality it was an acknowledgement, demanded by Luther's
own psychology, of the fact of feeling grounded upon the
immediate sense-impression

So there's something in the ritual itself that appeals to some part of him beyond his rational mind. It's not just that he's a stickler for tradition, but something about the communion touches some part of Luther that can't quite be explained?
>>
[98] In contrast to the Lutheran standpoint, Zwingli
championed a purely symbolic conception of the
Communion. What really mattered for him was a "spiritual"
partaking of the body and blood of Christ. This standpoint is
characterized by reason
and by an ideal conception of the ceremony. It had the
advantage of not violating the evangelical principle, and at the
same time it avoided all hypotheses contrary to reason.
However, it did scant justice to the thing that Luther wished
to preserve-the reality of the sense-impression and its
particular feeling-value. Zwingli, it is true, also administered
the Communion, and like Luther partook of the bread and
wine, but his conception contained no formula that could
adequately reproduce the unique sensory and feeling-value of
the object. Luther provided a formula for this, but it was
contrary to reason and to the evangelical principle. From the
standpoint of sensation and feeling this matters little, and
indeed rightly so, for the idea, the principle, is just as little
concerned with the sensation of the object. In the last resort,
both points of view are mutually exclusive.

As much as i like to pretend to be a connoisseur, i'm not, so can't quite say. Cigars and cigarillos are nice, but any deeper than that and i'm out of my depth. I've only ever smoked my friend's dad's pipe, which was good, but that was a while ago, and nothing special. If i were to pick up smoking again it would be with a pipe. It seems like a fun thing to get into. It'd be really cool to learn how to carve my own. And that way it's more of a hobby and less of habit, you know? It'd also be cool to learn how to cultivate tobbacco. I've always wanted to have a vertical monopoly, and that seems much more accessible with tobacco than with tea or coffee, even if it is worse for me, it's not like i'll care when i'm old enough to have probably achieved that dream.

.
>>
But i can tell you cigarettes suck. They're only appealing if you grew up eating breakfast at smokey casino buffets, but nostalgia is a fleeting thing, while lung damage, however slight, has a tendency to stick around. My father, for example, still has some trouble there, even though he hasn't smoked in decades upon decades. That is to say, if you're only doing it to fit in, or out of some strange sense of class solidarity, don't: Find some other other way to imitate and/or affirmate, and leave your poor lungs in peace. Not that the other methods of administration are much better for you, but at least you get your money's worth then.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGGQ0a2IT68
Not that the other methods of administration are much better for you, but at least you get your harm's worth then. So, i suppose it comes down to whether you feel more like a pipe person or a cigar guy, and i can't really point you one way or the other. You should really just try them both and see for yourself which you prefer.
>I'm worried about appearing cringe by just not being a cigarettefag like a normal person

[99] Luther's formulation favours the extraverted
conception of things, while Zwingli's favours the ideal
standpoint. Although Zwingli's formula does no violence to
feeling and sensation, merely offering an ideal conception, it
nevertheless appears to leave room for the efficacy of the
object. But it seems as though the extraverted
standpoint-Luther's-is not content with just leaving room
for the object; it also demands a formulation in which the
ideal subserves the sensory, exactly as the ideal formulation
demands the subservience of feeling and sensation.

So basically, leaving space for the other side isn't good enough for the introverts, and the extraverts, you have to directly pander to them for them to feel not upset. Hmm, reminds me of ... uh, a lot of things.

I'm basically half way there! It's not just the class solidarity, fitting in, appearing friendlier, the excuse to take breaks, or being being a good informant/spy but things can get pretty stressful sometimes and I feel like I need to take a step to one side for a moment to chill out. Drinking isn't allowed on the job of course.

[100] At this point, with the consciousness of having done
no more than pose the question, I close this chapter on the
problem of types in the history of classical and medieval
thought. I lack the competence to treat so difficult and
far-reaching a problem in any way exhaustively. If I have
succeeded in conveying to the reader some idea of the
existence of typical differences of standpoint, my purpose
will have been achieved. I need hardly add that I am aware
that none of the material here touched upon has been dealt
with conclusively. I must leave this task to those who
command a wider knowledge of the subject than myself.

>So in conclusion, I don't actually know anything and this was kind of all a waste of time
>Kinda just throwing ideas at the wall here
>I think it's still worth keeping in mind though

So does he want someone who knows history better or someone who knows psychology better to finish work. He'd totally be posting here if he was alive today though, or maybe on twitter or something.

Anyway, thus concludes Part 1 of psychological types, thanks to anybody that paid any attention at any point. Hopefully as Jung says something sunk in somewhere here. Part 2 looks difficult as all hell and is even longer, but it looks like we'll be diving right into, well just what are the superior and inferior functions? Maybe we'll get some more answers on Jung's preferred stacks, if they can truly be implied.

Maybe now some of us are a little clearer on Extraversion vs Introversion after this section. I know I for one am certainly on the extraverted side of this great divide. Although it is unclear how much of that is just inhabiting "Extraverted Thinking" as opposed to the Extraverted Feeling Sensing general glob. Oh well, I'm sure we'll get there, eventually, good things come to those who wait!

The most dysfunctional type must be INTJ. Imagine to have Ni as primary function, and Te as second, lol. That can only go wrong. Ni is basically the opposite of Te. And Ni is the weirdest of all the functions. Dominant Ni makes you daydream all the time, so you're never actually live in the same reality as other people. And Ni is irrational and doesn't care about facts, it cares about fantasy and visions. So, Te is rational and reality-based. That brings it in direct conflict with Ni. A Ni dominant person that tries to make sense and judge the world through Te is so fucked, lol.

Shoutout to the 1943 classic, Vienna 1910 despite that movie not even implying the existence of pedophile rings at any point! So it wasn't that story I guess. But it was everywhere, as not even once noted by my childhood hero Adolf Hitler also living in Vienna in 1910! >>
>>85573908
The relevant criticism of Freud is him being reductive, both with object relations/libido being always tied to sex, or him not recognizing the introversion despite being an introvert. It's probably a case of him assuming the introverted movement of libido is as natural as breathing, so it wasn't even worth naming it as he doesn't recognize types in the first place.
>>
Jung has his problems too, but they have more to do with his ability to communicate his ideas, and less with the ideas themselves. That isn't all his fault (eyes to see, ears to hear, and all that), and he was aware of it, but still. It is in large why Frued is so much more mainstream, and why fuckjobs like Joseph Campbell have been able to overshadow the man himself. And this wasn't some inevitable thing, at least not all of it, as Kierkegaard, although often misinterpreted, has not been over shadowed by his interpreters: This is due in large part to his deliberately obscurest authorial method, an approach Jung only began to adopt in his later years, in which he produced his least overshadowed works. Though, one may trouble to call the them the best understood.
>>

Present! What is it?
>>
The only problem with Jung is that the topic of his exploration is too complex for retards to understand. He communicates his ideas clearly, he simply does not make concrete conclusions about things the common retard wants conclusions about.
Jung cannot be boxed in to any position, mostly because of archetypal circles and unconscious shadow magic. But also because the conclusion is left to the reader. But, the reader, being a retard, doesn't realize that they're supposed to be making those conclusions; and that Jung is simply observing the psychological patterns and giving those patterns names.
A clear example of this is when people say:
>"Jung was a Gnostic".
No, he just explored Gnostic ideas through a psychological framework. The same applies to alchemy. It's not that he believes in such magic, or if he does, he doesn't outright claim to. But he ideas function as a medium to explore psychology.

The same with the more esoteric claims people make about Jung believing in ESP and the likes. It's a fundamental misunderstanding of the claims Jung is making.
That isn't to say he *doesn't* believe in those more abstract concepts, it's just that he doesn't claim to, and attributing those claims to him is a projection of ones own understanding.
If Jung explored the ideas of ghosts, people would attribute the belief that ghosts are objective truth to him. Without giving credence to why he was even exploring the idea in the first place.

And that's why people prefer Freud. He made claims of truth. He gave concrete answers. Regardless of whether those answers are true or not. But that's what people want. Answers.

[101] So far as I have been able to ascertain with my
somewhat limited knowledge, Friedrich Schiller seems to
have been the first to attempt a conscious differentiation of
typical attitudes on a large scale and to give a detailed
account of their peculiarities. This important endeavour to
present the two mechanisms in question, and at the same time
to discover a possible way of reconciling them, is to be found
in his essay first published in 1795: "Uber die asthetische
Erziehung des Menschen." The essay consists of a number of
letters which Schiller addressed to the Duke of
Holstein-Augustenburg.

[102] Schiller's essay, by its profundity of thought,
psychological penetration, and wide view of a possible
psychological solution of the conflict, prompts me to a rather
lengthy discussion and evaluation of his ideas, for it has never
yet been their lot to be treated in such a context. The service
rendered by Schiller from our psychological point of view, as
will become clear in the course of our exposition, is by no
means inconsiderable, for he offers us carefully worked out
lines of approach whose value we, as psychologists, are only
just beginning to appreciate. My undertaking will not be an
easy one, for I may well be accused of putting a construction
on Schiller's ideas which his actual words do not warrant.
Although I shall try to quote his actual words at every
essential point, it may not be altogether possible to introduce
his ideas into the present context without putting certain
interpretations and constructions
upon them. This is a possibility I must not overlook, but on
the other hand we must remember that Schiller himself
belonged to a definite type, and was therefore compelled,
even in spite of himself, as I am, to give a one-sided
presentation of his ideas.
>>
The limitations of our views and our
knowledge are nowhere more apparent than in psychological
discussions, where it is almost impossible for us to project
any other picture than the one whose main outlines are
already laid down in our own psyche

Goodness, what a lot of disclaimer-ing.
>>
>>85587208
I did, but my dad ended up delaying me. Now I need to use the little boy's room, so, sorry, i'll be a minute still.

[103] From various characteristics I have come to the
conclusion that Schiller belongs to the introverted type,
whereas Goethe-if we disregard his overriding
intuition-inclines more to the extraverted side. We can
easily discover Schiller's own image in his description of the
idealistic type. Because of this identification, an inevitable
limitation is imposed on his formulations, a fact we must
never lose sight of if we wish to gain a fuller understanding. It
is owing to this limitation that the one function is presented
by Schiller in richer outline than the other, which is still
imperfectly developed in the introvert, and just because of its
imperfect development it must necessarily have certain
inferior characteristics attached to it. At this point the author's
exposition requires our criticism and correction. It is evident,
too, that this limitation of Schiller's impelled him to use a
terminology which lacks general applicability. As an introvert
he had a better relation to ideas than to things. The relation to
ideas can be more emotional or more reflective according to
whether the individual belongs more to the feeling or to the
thinking type. And here I would request the reader, who may
perhaps have been led by my earlier publications to identify
feeling with extraversion and thinking with introversion, to
bear in mind the definitions given in Chapter XI of this book.
By the introverted and extraverted types I distinguish two
general classes of men, which can be further subdivided into
function-types, i.e., thinking, feeling, sensation, and intuitive
types. Hence an introvert can be either a thinking or a feeling
type, since feeling as well as thinking can come under the
supremacy of the idea, just as both can be dominated by the
object.

Woo! We're getting some typings right away! Is this the Jungian version of pronouns in the twitter bio?
>>
Anyway looks like we're finally getting into the thinking feeling sensation functions. How long after Chapter I was Chapter II written?
>>
[104] If, then, I consider that Schiller, in his nature and
particularly in his characteristic opposition to Goethe,
corresponds to
the introverted type, the question next arises as to which
subdivision he belongs. This is hard to answer. Without doubt
intuition plays a great role with him; we might on this
account, or if we regard him exclusively as a poet, reckon him
an intuitive. But in the letters on the aesthetic education of
man it is unquestionably Schiller the thinker who confronts
us. Not only from these, but from his own repeated
admissions, we know how strong the reflective element was
in Schiller. Consequently we must shift his intuitiveness very
much towards the side of thinking, thus approaching him also
from the angle of the psychology of the introverted thinking
type. It will, I hope, become sufficiently clear from what
follows that this hypothesis is in accord with reality, for there
are not a few passages in Schiller's writings that speak
distinctly in its favour.

First introverted thinker mention! Reflective element = thinking rather than introverted intuition? Hmmm. go on queen...

I would, therefore, beg the reader to
remember that the hypothesis I have just advanced underlies
my whole argument. This reminder seems to me necessary
because Schiller approaches the problem from the angle of his
own inner experience. In view of the fact that another
psychology, i.e., another type of man, would have approached
the same problem in quite another way, the very broad
formulation which Schiller gives might be regarded as a
subjective bias or an ill-considered generalization. But such a
judgment would be incorrect, since there actually is a large
class of men for whom the problem of the separated functions
is exactly the same as it was for Schiller. If, therefore, in the
ensuing argument I occasionally emphasize Schiller's
one-sidedness and subjectivity, I do not wish to detract from
the importance and general validity of the problem he has
raised, but rather to make room for other formulations. Such
criticisms as I may occasionally offer have more the character
of a transcription into another language which will relieve
Schiller's formulation of its subjective limitations. My
argument, nevertheless, follows Schiller's very closely, since
it is concerned much less with the general question of
introversion and extraversion-which exclusively engaged
our attention in Chapter I-than with the typical conflict of
the introverted thinking type.

Hmm hmm, soon, soon we will find out what the introverted thinking type truly is!

Alrighty, finally, my body is ready.

Is Forest Anon really an ISTP though? I always considered him INFJ

https://www.personality-database.com/profile/1213426/forest-anon-internet-personalities-other-mbti-personality-type
>>
>>85587612
Apparently only 2 people voted. No idea who that is though.
>>
>>85587436
He didn't write the final version that went in the book until later on, I'm guessing.
>>
>>85587605
Can you send a challenge to 3anonzzle instead of Renozzle?
>>
>>85587612
He could be either honestly it depends. But it's hard personality typing these kinds of people in general. ISTP seems appropriate for forestanon though
>>
>>85587612
mbti brainlets always type people at INxJ.
Some forest dweller is the epitome of extroversion, though.
>>
>>85587612
>>85587776
Forest anon is ESTP without a doubt

Sorry Centaur I can see my drunken comments last night were a bit rude. Sorry.

Omeprazole. I can't recommend it highly enough.

what are your thoughts on them?
>>
>>85587972
NTA, not a fan of their attached stereotype of being bossy workaholics who could take over the world.
>>
It's mostly depressed ESTJs larping as INFPs that post here.
They couldn't take over a wet paper bag, let alone the world.
>>
Weird theory but ok
>>
>>85587929
I think i was prescribed that for like a month after I had my second throwing up blood incident trainee doctor appointment thing where she rubbed my tummy. Honestly couldn't tell the difference.

Also I'm better than people who take medication. Obviously.

>>85587923
It's 'ight
We all make drunken insanomode comments here. I just wish I was actually capeable of getting actually drunk sometimes, I sort of lose attention and time passes me by and I get sick way to fast to truly experience the "letting go" sensation that's supposed to happen apparently. If anything I seem to get more neurotic somehow.
>>
What's so weird about it
>>
I seriously don't think most people who post on r9k are extraverts, regardless of which definition you want to use
>>
Okay, but why do you think that?
>>
overwhemingly negative or absent relation with anything external, willingly or not.
>>
>>85588062
yeah the stereotype sucks but what about real life?
>>
I'll ignore the parts of that which are incorrect and operate under the assumption that what you're saying is mostly correct.

Is this negative relationship with the external their habitual, normal, calm, ego standpoint? Or is it a neurotic trauma response a result of repeated negative interactions causing a psychological complex?

I think we both know the answer to that, it's quite clear if you interact with robots with any real frequency.
>>
Neurotic extroverts can have an extremely bad relationship with the external world. Which doubles their problems, because they WANT to have a relationship with the world.
Just because someone withdrawals from the external doesn't automatically make them an introvert.

Robots were rejected by the world for their weird quirks. They wanted to and likely still do want to interact with the external, but because of the events of their lives; they've put up a big defensive wall to keep the threats of rejection out.
It's not a habitual ego stand point. It's a defense mechanism acting autonomously and calling itself "The Real Me" :tm:.
>>
Will he ever figure out introverts also have extraversion or opposite way around?
Ego standpoint or not, it's still there, it's still going to affect you whether you want it or not, and you can still notice, consider it a problem and feel something about it.
>>
I think most people who pay attention to mbti don't acknowledge the fact that people have both introversion and extroversion simply because of the way the modern version of mbti talks about the traits. Especially when you consider the dubious monstrosity that is the function stack. Because it has cultivated a belief system that certain types don't have certain functions or attitudes.
>>
So does this mean we're all INFPs or ESTJs?
>>
you guys sure like writing long posts huh
>>
You guys sure like bumping the thread, huh?

The stuff about Forest Anon reminds me about Varg.

I find it really interesting how he sees himself as the Baldur of his own story. Euronymous just isn't really a person to him, just some troll, or maybe a jotun. That leaves, by necessity, Snorre as Hodur. I wonder what Snorre thinks about all this. I wonder also, who in this story is Othinn?.
