If you want to go to any sort of graduate school, or be a professional in a field, having perfect grades and test scores with plenty of experience is not enough. You must join clubs and prove you are well-liked and socially capable. Being technically proficient, intelligent, or capable isn't doesn't matter. Even if you do this on paper, your interviewer may get the "ick" when you fail an arbitrary social skill check and deny you. This frustrates me to no end. I hate normies.

Socializing is also something that imposes geographic constraints which are horribly imposing upon American style Euclidian zoning carved into the earth post Robert Moses. This is to say that if you live near or in a citadel you must make the super commute to grind up the xp from irl pvp arenas such as the bars, clubs, restaurants, parks, and general hub zones of downtowns which are still lively post covid.I understand how taxing this is but simply put it is one of the most straightforward and attainable methods. In many respects you can gain access to a life worth living that you would never be able to buy your way into even if you upskilled for the best job or traded your way into making it.
