I'm booking a one-way flight to southern France tomorrow. My plan is to travel north and then return home. Nothing booked yet for accommodation. Wish me luck frens.

I'm planning to land in Marseille as Nice seems a little farther away than I like considering I'm trying to get north.

You would be missing out. The train goes there very nicely along the Mediterranean, and from Nice it's only half an hour over to Monaco, too. I would take a day and spend a night in Nice, you can still continue north towards Lyon after that.

I guess, maybe I'll do that. I'm literally booking it all today desu. I just hope there's a hotel near the airport which lets me check in late at night.

The airport in Marseille is further away. The Nice airport does have hotels right next to it, but there are also the Buses and the Tram going right from the airport into the city. Can be downtown in less than 15min.
