I can appreciate certain aspects of insects but I'm always grounded by the idea that if any single insect were just a tad bigger, they wouldn't even think twice about eating you. The best you could hope for is something that would quickly kill you and not something like a parasitic wasp, who'll paralyze you, implant its eggs inside you (or lay them next to you), and then peace out while it's young emerge and eat you alive

It's a horrifying thought. Imagine being consumed by some prehistoric centipede the size of a man. It's knife-like jaws cutting into you as it devours you, bite-by-bite completely without feeling
