I think the issue with mulattas growing up being bullied more has to do with them being raised in impoverished areas. They usually have white single mothers. The mother usually doesn't take care of their hair either. So the bullying can be contributed to that. Once a mulatta finds herself, she is like a butterfly.

Seeing a half breed elicits the same sense of disgust/revulsion like when I see someone deformed. It feels dirty even though consciously I know it's not contagious and they can't help being that way.
