Where did you find the pupa? That could narrow down what kind of bug it is.

From a dead corpse.

Well it doesn't look like a fly pupa so it seems like it'd be some kind of beetle. If it is a beetle then maybe it's a large carrion beetle(Silphinae)? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silphinae
>>
Also, beyond trying to ID the larva, I think it's a nice collection. What kind of stuff do you want to collect the most and why?

an antique store.

mostly wet specimens and anatomical models
ive always had an interest in anatomy and specimens and shit so now that i have money im wasting all of it on this

Oh, I see. The other post was someone else then. At the very least it looks like some kind of beetle larva. If it's really big then it might even be a hercules beetle larva.

I see, I see. Are there any wet specimens you think are the coolest? I imagine you like hearts quite a bit. I know you can also buy preserved black widows online too.

Would you ever want to preserve any specimens in something other than alcohol? Like in resin? I know it doesn't usually tend to work out, but I figure some specimens might work. You'd probably have to thoroughly soak them in preservatives beforehand in order for it to work right.

Fun fact, people were using butchery meat like guts and stuff as an onahole, before it was a flashlight, before it was a pocket pussy.

there's some pre-made specimens in resin ive been eyeing, most notably a sequence of brains from a fish up to a rabbit, and a fully dissected toad
i've also been wanting a mummified fetal pig
