Is it better for the human body to be lifeless?Is it better to be a corpse? I assume everyone here makes a value judgment that it would be better to have never been born. Everyone has their own reasons for this but generally it's due to the structurally negative nature of the human organism we have come to exist as -> as this body that needs, that pains, that is vulnerable to sickness and injury, and is afflicted by an inevitable wearing down and aging process that will degrade our organism until we become a lifeless corspe. The organism stops functioning and feeling and are no more. Just a corpse remains. But the question is, when our organism is living, we are subject to need and harm, the burden of being a living body that must eat and find warmth, and navigate a society with rules and powers, and must struggle to survive - but none of this afflicts a non feeling corpse. A corpse cannot feel pain or be burdened by the miseries of human existence. So isn't it better for a human body to be lifeless? It feels no pain, it suffers no more, it is invulnerable to harm. Only the living suffer, whereas the corpses are at peace. Instincually dying and dead bodies horrifies us, but rationally is it not better for the human body to be lifeless - to be a corpse? It is our inescapable fate regardless - all human bodies will die. So why struggle against your own inevitable death, when rationally it is the end of burden and suffering? What do you think?

Actually, the rational choice is to live as long and as nicely as possible, because you don't know what comes after, and for most of the hypotheticals of what comes after (absolute nothingness forever, afterlife, reincarnation, reseting into the same existence once the universe dies and reforms, singularity), living a good life is a safe, rational and reasonable choice, while expediting your death is a risky gambit.
