Should there be a women's division in chess for competitive fairness? I mean the results speak for themselves no?You can argue women have been historically much less incentivised and allowed to play chess competitively and so on but does this really explain the gap today?
>>85577232There is (sorta). There are women tournaments which men can't enter, but women can still enter normal tournaments. There's also a woman grandmaster title (wgm), but that's a meme and I'd feel humiliated if I had it desu. I remember a few years ago there were wgms who were lower rated than me as well as millions of other literal nobodies. I'm not sure if it's still as bad, but if I were a woman, I'd petition to get rid of that title for sure.
