I'm 21. What mistakes did you make at this age that you regret? What warnings and precautionary tales do you want to share with me, and do you have any advice? The thing I worry about most in the future is still being unhappy.

-not getting as much education that I could when I was young.
-not continuing to learn (formally, not life learning) as I got older
-getting into a relationship too early
-not start saving early as a formal habit
>>

get past the unhappiness and rejection now. try try try, and when you finally find a girl that gives you a chance, resist the urge to want to make her "the one". you actually need to properly weed out women these days, most are garbage.

im 33 and finally started talking to / going out with more women in the last 3 years and i can tell you most aren't the kind youd want a relationship with. none of the girls ive been with except maybe one would have been fit for a LTR sadly.

Get fit and flirt with girls constantly. It's fun and sometimes results in a fling.
>>
>>85577481
figuring i would fix it before 25
>>
>>85577481
Not taking the opportunities I have had before me because of feelings of inadequacy, not being accepted, or believing I won't be happy anyway ("so why bother [xxx]..."). I don't so much regret the things I have done so much as what I did not do. It makes a cascading difference over time, and each moment you reject life's experiences, you add another regret to the pile that cannot ever be erased.

>I'm 21. What mistakes did you make at this age that you regret?
Not trying hard to get gf.
Not using chances to lose virginity.
Not getting a better education.
Not realizing that drug taking leftists as friend only will pull me down and make me a loser.

If I could do it again I would be a religious conservative with 21, engaged in social activities and the community, and get married before 30.

not knowing to use sunscreen
not knowing to start fin at the first sign of recession
casual sex for the sake of casual sex
doing jobs instead of pursuing a career
letting personal life get in the way of being there for family

if you pursue happiness, you'll never attain it btw

At 21 I felt strongly a pull towards oblivion which derailed my life completely. If you feel such a pull, resist it. Distract yourself with productive work. Do not under any circumstances listen to the voices. All things go the way of this dark current, child. There is no use turning away from the truth of what has transpired. The future is set on obsidian foundations for the glory of the possessor.

deal with your truama if you have any. This is a but of a weird one sense you might not realize you have something wrong with you, it'll just seem like you are perpetually stuck, getting older and never advancing. It can prevent you from finish school or holding a job. good luck and make the most of your life

i would advise you to stop caring about other people. Be indifferent to their actions, their words, their inconsequential existence. Only YOU matter
>>
>>85577589
developing a dependence on alcohol really fucked up my life last year. try to avoid any substance that will impact your ability to make informed decisions
>>
>>85577593
I gotta get better at this, but people will gang up on you if they don't like you and you don't have the influence to stop it. Also if you want people in your life that can give you a leg up, you have to care about what they think about to to an extent.
>>
>>85577481
Not buying Bitcoin. That's the only thing I regret. I don't mind being a stone cold incel.
>>
>>85577481
nothing really. most of the things we do make perfect sense given the info we have. if you are generally impulsive id try to be aware of that but thats all
>>
>>85577481
Start looksmaxxing now rather than later

It doesn't matter what your starting point is, the sooner you do it the better your options will be

I lost my whole 20s because I was depressed and insecure about my height and didn't take care of my skin or keep myself thin

I got that back under control in my 30s but now I don't have access to the 18-25 girls that I had in my 20s
>>
>>85577481
>What mistakes did you make at this age that you regret?
not killing myself when i was 19

- Alcohol is ok in moderation, but don't get into drugs, not even weed. You can lose years of your life to that shit.
- Don't do something just because everyone else is doing it. You'll end up in a life that doesn't feel like your own and it will make you miserable.
- People deserve second chances but never a third.
- You will regret not trying something much more than trying it and failing.
- Almost everything you are anxious or upset about will not matter at all in a year or two.
- You are who you surround yourself with. If all your friends aren't good people or the kind of person you want to be then you will end up like them.
- Don't stress too much about the future, so many things happen that are outside your control. Make the best decisions you can with the info available to you, but forgive your past self for not knowing the future.
- "Good enough" really is good enough. It's not settling or cope to stop when you're satisfied.
>>
>>85577481
Things you do at that age are too random to regret. Pick a wave and ride it.

34 here, spent my twenties in misery, now have a high paying job, quality friends and gf.
- misery loves company, many of your "friends" are probably bringing you down, you truly are the average of the people you spend your time with
- your twenties are a moment of privilege, don't seek comfort, move around, explore, experiment, fail, tart over, you're not "late" for anything
- start getting in shape now, building muscle is easy at your age, but don't just do bodybuilding, also pick something interesting
- you can be miserable in any income bracket
- you probably need to be saying "yes" to a lot more things than you currently do, look up "Surface Area of Luck"
- be critical, but also be curious and open-minded, you will be a very different person 10 years down the line, some of the opinions and thoughts you hold so dear right now will be proved wrong, so stay humble

>too much porn, didn't even try when there were girls who were tentatively interested in me
>stopped exercising
>didn't study enough/devote effort to prepare for post-college life
>resented my friend group, began isolating myself from them but made no effort to find new ones

Just the broad strokes, off the top of my head. Not exactly rocket science, most of the posts here have the same regerts. It is worth repeating though. Plan for your fucking future.

No, a girl's flaws doesn't make her more attractive. That's your brain putting her on a pedestal and you'll get your heart torn into pieces if you actually try to meet her standards. ALWAYS assume the worst out of women and you'll be right most of the time, otherwise you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Also stop playing video games. Seriously, read books, pick an instrument, start following your dreams... Just about anything other than bedrotting all day crying about tfw no gf. Just find something that would fulfill your natural imperative to build and create, and forget about girlfriends until you're close to getting one, if you ever are.

THAT BEING SAID! Bad experiences are not always bad in the long term, as it would make you more mature very fast, and a life well-lived isn't necessarily full of good experiences. Just try to live life. Go outside and embarrass yourself, but keep your chin up and never despair (as soon as you do you'll find that there's a snowball effect where everything gets worse, like manifestation or some shit). If you can keep yourself busy, you can also more easily quit porn, which in the long term will VASTLY improve your life (believe me, I didn't believe in nofap until I did it by accident for a month because of my busy schedule)

my 20s were miserable and I have been pretty content since 28 or so. I'm now 32 and at peace.

I will give you advice that has helped me, but may not necessarily help you it just helped me massively. This is not a "success" map. Anything but. This is how I stopped being miserable on a day to day basis.

-trust your gut. If your environment is telling you you should do something, like something, be something, yet you yourself do not like or value that thing, listen to it. It's telling you something important about yourself. The more you try to deny these gut feelings and live in other people's image, the more miserable you will become.
-get comfortable with being uncomfortable. the most valuable lessons are in failure and discomfort. your absolute worst days will end up being the ones you look back on as the most pivotal.
-think of your 20s as developing your character. not your career. not your finances, not your relationships. Your character. you may do those other things. But there will likely come a point where those things will change radically, what will you be left with then? your character.
-it's extremely easy to be in an extremely toxic family, friend group, workplace and not even realise it. if the people you are around make you feel like shit, cut them loose. don't make excuses for people. the longer you're around people like this the more they get their hooks into you and you become like them. a large portion of human interaction can be crabs in a bucket. and this might include close family members
-learn the art of saying no. you will develop immense self respect by doing this.
>"bee yourself" but unironically and unapologetically. if you are rejected by people when you're your authentic self, take it not as information that you are weird, but you are incompatible with these people.

Some of this applies to earlier than your age, but:
>settled with the fat practice gf for too long, and repeated this cycle; didn't get gfs that were my physical ideal til my mid 30s (though I dated them occasionally)
Don't waste years and years with fat slobs if you're maintaining your looks, opportunities will slip by
>there were definitely a few girls that talked to me in HS that didn't have to, and I should have pursued them or asked to hang out somewhere
If you're given ins fucking take them
>never drove and settled into it this lifestyle, now I'm a truly weird old man
Fix your robot shit early. If it's your body force yourself into a jog and some pushups/situps daily if you can't fix your eating habits.
>had a 5+ year gf but didn't marry or give her kids, she dropped me for someone else
If one or both of you don't want this by year 3 it's time to move on.

You know how you relax when you let out a big sigh? Notice you can move your attention to parts of your body and feel them relax with every exhale. Do that anytime you feel bored, it adds up overtime and you may save yourself some doctor's visits.
