Mine aren't. My mother leaves out rice hours on end and then eats it and sees nothing wrong with it. I've told her that eventually she will get sick but she doesn't listen. She also uses the same spatula when cooking ground beef. Educating her on food safety has felt like teaching a monkey how to talk. My dad used to serve up veggies on the same cutting boards that we use for cooking to our pet rats. He just puts the cutting boards in their cage and let them eat from it. I told him five times not to do it but he continued, once again. Teaching a monkey how to talk. Eventually I threw the board away and he stopped.
lmao immunelet
Which germs specifically are you afraid of? Do you think there's a reasonably possible way any of those could impact your health? Black plaque and gonorrhea sound pretty rough, but I don't expect they would suddenly appear in a bowl of rice by means of spontaneous biogenesis after the clock strikes an unlucky hour.
>>85578216I almost never get sick because I wash my hands and stay away from sick people.>>85578241>Which germs specifically are you afraid of? Do you think there's a reasonably possible way any of those could impact your health?Food poisoning. Please don't tell me that you are a sub human.
>>85578284I almost never get sick and I only wash my hands after I wipe my ass
>leaving some rice out for a while>vague fear of "poisoning"Yeah you're just afraid of nothing. It doesn't matter if your home doesn't meet professional food safety standards. In fact being anal about it is more likely to worsen your health long-term it is to than improve it. If these feelings are strong with you then it qualifies as mental illness.
>>85578202I'm starting to realize I'm like this myself. My girlfriend is a neat freak and slight germophobe, and being with her makes me realize how unsanitary my own lifestyle is. Granted, nothing bad has ever come of it.
>>85578202The rat one is pretty wild. Rats are pretty poopy I am surprised he doesnt see the problem.
>>85578284Food poisoning isn't a germ. You are profoundly mentally ill and have a very active imagination filling in the (many) blanks regarding your knowledge of basic biology.
>>85578202My parents rarely ever wash their hands. They'll go straight to handling food after touching all sorts of things all day. And they also touch their phones while preparing food, and I've seen the situations where they pull those out. My sister is even worse.
I leave rice in my instant pot for like two days and still eat it. Phaggots on here will go against OP even if he said he did 9/11 though. Your dad is nasty as fuck though
>>85578202I honestly think a significant number of people are walking around with low-grade food poisoning from expired food, mold, lukewarm countertop pasta, etc. Just having mild diarrhea semi-constantly and never picking up on it because it's never severe enough to dehydrate you to death in a Western country and you can just be like, "lol, Taco Tuesday amirite?" The older generations are probably a big source of this, too. When you eat soup that was warm on the counter for 12 hours before going into a badly-cleaned Tupperware that grandpa used to store weed killer in 2002 you're maybe gonna get sick. Or the pasta where there's 9 ingredients in the sauce and between 2 and 4 of them expired in the cupboard in 2011. Or foamy garlic cereal out of a bowl where not only did the gunk from the last meal not come off, the dish soap wasn't fully rinsed out either. >>85579773This. The diarrhea dump without washing your hands, or only running the sink for 2 seconds performatively, and then going straight to the communal chip bag or to cook. Or to walk up and show you something on the phone you heard them using at full volume on the pot while taking a big wet shit. The general non-washing of hands before handling food. The drinking out of the carton. The miserly reusing of containers and utensils that should be utterly condemned.
>>85579951>>85578202U faggots are neurotic as fuck. Get some help
>>85578202My dad was a nudist so he always got shit from friends parents about being gross or too sexual when I lived with the fucker and barely even saw him have morning wood, I hated people ever since I was a kid
I eat food off the floor like a dog. you could have just walked there barefoot after using the bathroom where all the peepee germs are and I wouldn't taste a difference.
>>85579951t. dude who gets sick 5 times a year wondering whyAnd yes that is getting sick alot, if youre getting sick more than 3 times a year, your immune system is fucking dogshit, due to being a bitch.
>>85579983I'm the guy who only washes hands after wiping his ass that posted earlier and I concur. I haven't gotten sick this year so far. And last year I had a cold
>>85578202The hygiene standards of my family routinely appall me. I refuse to eat anything that they've cooked or touched. And I disinfect all dishes before use.
>>85579972>neuroticOh, shut the fuck up. We both know that grandma's kitchen is an exercise in Who Wants Diarrhea.>"eat around" mold that has penetrated the bread entirely >the filthy dish sponge that hasn't been replaced since 2014>the tap water out of fucked-up pipes from 1929 that smells vaguely like chlorine bleach>the wood cutting board that has absorbed every chemical and biofilm on it since 1979>the expired food that can't be thrown out because it would expose how bare the shelves actually are>every dish visibly and tangibly still has biofilms and food from last meal but also still has soap because you can only run the water for 3 seconds>the Tupperware that gets reused between storage purposes and food purposes and may or may not have contained ammunition or cleaning products before granddad emptied it, didn't wash it, and threw the soup in it>the fucking water bottle that was opened in 2023 and has one sip taken out of it, still sitting there waiting for someone to disturb it>the fridge that has open containers just mingled so you can drink tuna-scented backwash juiceFace it, they'd fail inspection if there were any sort of standards.
>>85579951No. You might all have a nervous germophobe breakdown if you were forced to live like me, but I have actually never had diarrhea or any kind of food poisoning even once in my life, and I have not been sick once this decade.
>>85580081>"eat around" mold that has penetrated the bread entirely I ate moldy bread before. It's fine. Don't eat if you don't like it>>the filthy dish sponge that hasn't been replaced since 2014Dish soap keeps it clean even if it looks like shit>>the tap water out of fucked-up pipes from 1929 that smells vaguely like chlorine bleachBleach? Based on your neuroticism that should be a plus>the wood cutting board that has absorbed every chemical and biofilm on it since 1979It's flavor>the expired food that can't be thrown out because it would expose how bare the shelves actually areNothing is expired until the nose says so>every dish visibly and tangibly still has biofilms and food from last meal but also still has soap because you can only run the water for 3 secondsWhy don't you help washing the dishes you crybaby>the Tupperware that gets reused between storage purposes and food purposes and may or may not have contained ammunition or cleaning products before granddad emptied it, didn't wash it, and threw the soup in itIngesting gunpowder is simply based>the fucking water bottle that was opened in 2023 and has one sip taken out of it, still sitting there waiting for someone to disturb itNeurotic as fuck. It's just a water bottle. Bring a clean water bottle if it bothers you so much>the fridge that has open containers just mingled so you can drink tuna-scented backwash juiceI don't see how this could harm me
>>85580186>Dish soap keeps it clean even if it looks like shitHoly shit, you are a retarded shitskin. Soap doesn't do anything to the bacteria. Soap encapsulates oil to physically remove debris from dishes.A sponge is sterilized by soaking it in bleach, boiling it, or allowing it to dry out for many days.
>>85580186>Dish soap keeps it clean even if it looks like shitYou fucking caveman. This is the same thinking that leads me to store my bath soap in my own room. You people think "soap=clean" and probably rub it all over your butthole thinking "it's soap, how can soap be unclean" while you're in there. >Why don't you help washing the dishes you crybabyI am, in fact, the only one who washes them properly. >Neurotic as fuck. It's just a water bottle. Bring a clean water bottle if it bothers you so muchStanding water is nasty, atmospheric bacteria exist, not even the air around you is clean, and a bunch of you are sipping on black mold from your poorly-cleaned reusable water bottles. What's funny about this is that I am gross. I'm messy. Basic food handling and bathroom hygiene are not beneath ME.
>>85580232>actually understands that saponified things are just a degreaser to help mechanically remove lipids>actually distinguishes between degreasing and sterilizing>mentions boiling the spongeOh, I fucking love you. You would be a good roommate. You could use my rice cooker or my dishes. You probably wash your fucking hands properly, too, instead of just getting them wet and being like "germs gone." I like you.
>>85580232Bacteria is good for your gut health, bubble boy>>85580239I live my life without worrying about this useless shit. If the water in my bottle is stale and doesn't taste good I get fresh water and don't think about it meanwhile you guys make a thread to relish in your OCD-like neuroticismMaybe you guys just have shit immune systems and get sick all the time, but I don't have that problem
>>85580277Nah, understanding hygiene is not the same as practicing it. The greasy washcloth in my kitchen sink has been there for three months.
>>85580232they sterilize if they're left out to dry for a long time? all this time i thought it was one of the slobbiest things i did
>>85580373It is unironically better than keeping it moist, yes
My mother used to "level off" my bowl of breakfast cereal when I was a kid with HER FINGERS. When I discovered that it deeply affected our relationshipMy parents also leave the same decomposing-trash smelling dishrag hanging over the sink for days on end and reuse and reuse it.>>85579296To be fair norovirus is rampant amon normies, it's a foodborne illness, it's identical in presentation to food poisoning, and braindead normies call it food poisoning.
>>85578202I have a similar problem, OP. People don't take germs seriously until a cat gives them a little scratch and their limbs fall off. It happened to a woman! I think it was all 4 limbs if I'm not mistaken. That's why I disinfect cuts and abrasions, no matter how small.Life gives no fucks. You are not the main character.
