This company is better in most ways than the previous place I work so it's not terrible but if I'm going to work I'd prefer to do what I was doing before.Right now I'm on a crew of 5 doing maintenance (mowing the grass) at various apartment complexes. Before I was on crew of 3 or 4 people, one big community for 5 days (800-900 houses), trimming hedges and trees all day long. I miss it, I enjoyed doing that. It was a lot more work for less pay than what I am doing right now, a lot of trees so a lot of picking the trimmer above my head, pic related is an old pic from there. One nice lady has baked us cookies.The regular nonsense of having 5-15 different places to go to every week to mow suuuuuucks. I hate mowing, too. Really I only like to trim.I do like the outside though, sun making me darker again, the heat feels good, getting all sweaty and tired feels amazing. Most importantly, having money feels good.They hired me to run a crew but I don't want to, I just want to work and go home. No worrying about the time or the property or my crew or the manager.

>>85579458It can be nice, it isn't for everyone, and it can be a crap ton of money if you are willing to put in the effort to find work, sell it, and do it.I made 1.2k with another guy and 2 days of work but could have been one. Demo some plants, install some new plants, lay about 50 bricks for the edge and drop like 10 or so bags of mulch on top, really not a lot of work. The problem is finding that kind of work consistently enough to pay bills. It mostly pays like shit my old company when I first started in 2021 was paying me 13.50 an hour, which to other people I was working with was actually amazing pay. Some of them started at 10 or 8 some years before I started so. It didn't feel good to me, that first summer was hell to me, it has never been as hot to me. Rained so much that summer we couldn't mow the ponds every week so when we did mow them they'd be tall and thick and I'd be weedeating it. Anyway after 4 years of working there I was making about 17.50 an hour (i got a promotion and went to salary 145 a day). Really getting into deciding which plants and where to plant them and when/how to trim them so they compliment each other and the building is work. Unfortunately nowadays they're soulless and use LLMs to design landscape projects.Regular grass cutting doesn't do it as much but landscape work and trimming feels immensely satisfying. I am absolutely proud of my work. But yeah it is nice to touch some grass and soak in some sun. Definitely recommend buying a nice looking plant at walmart or lowes and just planting it in your yard.
